Overview German milk recording structure Ø 36 cows mountain regions 4.1 million milk cows in over 91,000 herds 3.5 million cows in over 61,000 herds are milkrecorded More than 70% from these are registered in the herd book Milk performance very different between the regions and ranges from 7,000 to over 9,000 kg of milk with more than 4.00% fat und 3.40% protein. Implementation of the CoQ in Germany DLQ is a registered nonprofit association. The statute of the association and the resolutions of the authorities oftheassociation are binding forthemember organisations. DLQ applied for the certificate for the scopes milk recording for dairy cattle, identification of dairy cattle, laboratory and data processing. PracticaI implementation of the CoQ in Germany Each member organisation has carried out an internal audit and answered the questions to the CoQ (according to their scope). p) All replies being merged into one. It was very helpful that the work in the scopes of the certificate based also in the past on common guidelines! The overall reply and the single replies was send to the external ICAR auditor. What is the further process? In three years the second audit will be carried out an external ICAR auditor visiting and inspecting the organisation. The auditor will be visited ii up to of the total number of the DLQ members. In the meantime DLQ audit the member organisations (no ICAR requirement). Experience gained from the ICAR audits Preparation based on the documents provided by the applicant. The audit start with iha introductory conversation and ends with a final conversation. Check list for a structured approach. It is also important to give useful hints. At the end its required that the applicant is comply with standards and guidelines as published by ICAR and the customers of the applicant receive high quality services. DLQ benefits of the CoQ For the DLQ the ICAR Quality Certificate is a very important element in the uniform presentation of the performance and quality standards of their members. Particularly important is the regular and neutral auditing by the international experts. The possibility of the certification in a group will increase the close agreement between the members.
