Robust Lift & Slide hardware and wheel carriage assembly for bottom track support and weight resistance. Specially designed EPDM V-type gaskets and dense felt brushes for a totally closed weather sealed system. Concealed multi-point lock system ensures strength, rigidity and ease of operation. Aluminum finish options include AAMA-2604 compliant powder coat, anodized and Kynar. In-stock wood supply includes pine and poplar. Exotic and imported species available. NAFS Compliant System Configuration: Pocketed or stacked Max. panel height: Up to 124 (3150 mm) Max. panel width: Up to 60 (1524 mm) Panel weight: Approximately 7-8 lbs/ft² Panel thickness: 3 ½ Stile & Rail profiles: 4 Track System: Recessed Drainage Barefoot Friendly Transition Panda's patented ADA compliant drainage track system is recessed into sub-floor to create a barefoot friendly passage and ensure the smoothest possible operation. The finished floor is laid in between tracks leaving only a 3/16 (4.76mm) rail exposed. This assembly features a weep channel built-in for increased protection against water infiltration. Recessed Drainage Track System How a Lift & Slide Door System Operates 0 16 3 1. 2. 3. 4. 1. Handle is in the closed and locked position. 2. Door System is securely sealed in the closed and locked position with the weather-stripping engaged in compression. The panels are pulled toward the jamb and lowered onto the track, engaging the dual weather gaskets at the top, bottom and sides. 3. A 180 turn of the door handle unlocks the door. 4. When the handle is rotated down 180, a special hardware system that unlocks the door and lifts the panel off the track is activated. The door is lifted by about 3 16 taking the pressure off the weatherstripping enabling motion with very little effort. In this position, the door slides free on rollers and tracks.
NAFS Testing Results Panda is NAFS ready! In an effort to provide assurance to architects, specifiers, and building owners, Panda Windows & Doors have subjected the TS.13 Lift & Slide Door System and the TS.60 Thermally Broken Folding Door System to the primary test procedures for air infiltration and exfiltration, water penetration, and structural capacity. These products have been designed and engineered to meet NAFS-11 and NAFS-08 standards. Testing performed by Architectural Testing, Inc., resulted in the following outcome. BUILT TO PERFORM Aluminum Thermally Broken System Panda's Folding Glass Wall Systems provide the ideal solution for maximizing openings in structures where door pocketing is not an option. This top-hung system carries its weight through a head track designed to withstand heavy loads and frequent use. The TS.60 system offers unparalleled durability, stronger support and superior energy efficiency. The thermal break technology consists in separating the aluminum profile to reduce thermal conductivity and provide excellent performance ratings. This is achieved by using polyamide insulating bars with glass fibers integrated to provide maximum strength. Features: High quality 6063-T5 extruded aluminum with special ribs for maximum hardness. Thermal break formed by 15/16 (24mm) polyamide insulated bars. 1 (25.4 mm) clear Low-e tempered-insulated glazing. Multi-point lock system engages into the top and bottom tracks for increased security. Maintenance-free sealed bearing rollers allow for the quietest and smoothest operation. Hidden hinges provide a clean and modern look. Aluminum finish options include AAMA-2604 compliant powder coat, anodized and Kynar. NAFS Compliant System Opening: Outswing Max. CASE STUDY The National Club Toronto, ON - Canada t Understanding the NAFS Standard What is NAFS? Useful standards for testing the physical performance of windows and doors have been developed over many years, culminating in the North American Fenestration Standard (NAFS). This standard was first published in 2005, with new editions available in 2008 and 2011. The glass doors are truly beautiful and have a flexibility that allows the club to open the doors creating a much larger space for entertaining. When the glass doors are closed it still creates a feeling of openness allowing members & guests to look out on to the deck. We are very pleased with our decision to work with Panda Windows and Doors as their product has helped to enhance the beauty of our rooftop. Laurie Farnum - Clubhouse Manager The National Club is a designated historic site in the heart of Toronto's financial district at 303 Bay Street. This elite members-only club is composed of three large principal dining rooms, eleven private meeting rooms, three lounges and six rooms of hotel-style accommodations for visiting members and guests. The 108-year-old red brick, four-story Georgian building has undergone several periods of extensive internal renovation in its history to maintain both the cosmetic and mechanical aspects of the facilities. A new rooftop patio and enclosure was opened in early 2014. What was once a storage spot for spare equipment is now a 3,000-square-foot bustling restaurant that opens up to the rooftop terrace. Panda's was installed to connect TS.60 Thermally Broken Folding Door system the rooftop restaurant's interior with the outdoor patio and provide additional seating and lounging space. The new outdoor event space was crucial to refining the club's appeal in this day and age. With the new rooftop, the club also remains busy in the summer as people generally want to be outdoors during warmer months. In colder months, the thermally broken construction provides exceptional weather resistance minimizing cold transfer to the interior. The 7-panel folding door features an every-day swing door to walk in and out of for daily use. 1 The NAFS-08 version was developed jointly under the guidance of the Canadian Standards Association (CSA), American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA), and the Window & Door Manufacturers Association (WDMA) in an attempt to homogenize Canadian and American testing and performance rating regimes based on AAMA 101, WDMA I.S.2, and CSA A440, the three older standards that anteceded it. NAFS requires rigorous testing of fenestration products. It is concerned mainly with the determination of performance grade (PG), design pressure (DP), and related performance ratings such as air leakage resistance and water penetration resistance test pressure. Why is NAFS important to you? NAFS-08 has been adopted by the 2009 International Building Code (IBC), the International Residential Code (IRC) and the 2010 National Building Code of Canada (NBCC). Several provincial Canadian codes have also adopted NAFS-08, along with its Canadian Supplement (CSA A440S1-09). These building codes explicitly require fenestration products to have performance ratings specific to each building's location, height, and terrain. This has huge implications for all parties involved in the specification and supply chain, as building officials will be studying labels to ensure the Performance Grade and Water Test Pressure values are appropriate for buildings in their jurisdiction. A NAFS compliant product ensures you're using a regulated and tightly controlled product that performs appropriately every time. 1 NAFS-08 is also known as AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-08, NAFS North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for Windows, Doors, and Skylights.
