+ The Responsible Mining Assurance System will include: 1. Best practice standards that describe environmentally and socially responsible mine operations as well as legacy mine site management; 2. An independent third-party mechanism to verify implementation of the standards; 3. A membership program designed to generate and maintain long term support for the system from all key stakeholder groups; 4. Communication tools (such as certificates, approved claims and labels) that generate rewards for effective implementation by participating enterprises; 5. An organizational structure sufficient to ensure the long term stability and success of the system as a whole (through legal entities and associated personnel, governance and financial resources); 6. A way to register stakeholder complaints and resolve disputes.
