About Keystone Park At 152ha, and yielding around one million square metres of developable platform area, Keystone Park is KwaZulu- Natal s only custom-designed logistics and warehousing precinct located on the N3 Corridor. Government Policy Framework Alignment In particular, Keystone Park is specifically aligned with/contributes to: 1 The NATIONAL INFRASTRUCTURE PLAN (NP) 2012 which forms a critical component of the National Development Plan (NDP) aiming to transform the economic landscape, create new jobs and strengthen the delivery of basic services. Specifically, the Strategic Integrated Project 2 of 18 Projects (SIP2), which aims to strengthen the Durban Free State Gauteng logistics corridor. 2 Keystone Park is located on the PROVINCIAL PRIMARY GROWTH corridor as identified in the Provincial Spatial Economic Development Strategy (PSEDS) 2006. 3 ethekwini MUNICIPALITY S 2013/ 2014 Integrated Development Plan and associated Spatial Development Framework identified Keystone Park as a Strategic Project for 2013 and beyond. More recently, Keystone Park has been elevated to a Phase 1 Priority Area, i.e. identified for development in the next five years to 2019. Keystone Park supports the ethekwini Municipality s Mpumulanga-Hammarsdale New Town Centre Programme which seeks to address the structural poverty so prevalent in the region. Cemented as Growth Intervention in more recent Provincial Planning Documents PSDF (2011), PGDS (2011) and PGDP (2012). 8
