DUE DILIGENCE AND BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE: As any sophisticated regulator, prosecutor or journalist knows, this starts with database-driven research and onsite pulls of all of the relevant public filings. Through the use of subscription and proprietary databases, we establish the universe of the jurisdictions where the subject has lived, worked or operated. We then physically pull and analyze all of the material public filings in those jurisdictions. If there is something publicly available out there that can hurt or embarrass you, we will find it before it becomes a problem. THESE TYPICALLY INCLUDE FILINGS RELATED TO: - Criminal history - Federal and state civil litigation - Corporate affiliations - Bankruptcies, liens and judgments - Regulatory sanctions - Negative and/or relevant news articles - Credit history (with a release) - Property ownership - Uniform Commercial Code filings - Education and employment history (with a release) This work is often supplemented by source work. Many times our clients care most about what isn t publicly available. From the initial research we can generate a source list that may include such people as our subject s adverse litigants, former partners and financial sponsors, analysts, journalists, former employers and employees. We also have relationships and access to a global network of sources that allow us to focus on our subject s reputation in a particular industry or community as well as among law enforcement sources and government regulators pg.4
