Neil Collins BE Eng, MEngSc, PIANC, NPER-3, RPEQ BE (Hons), MEngSc, PhD, MIEAust, MEIANZ, CPEng RPEQ Tony Weber BAppSc/Chem, Visiting Fellow ANU, MSIA, MAWA Neil has over 33 years experience in engineering and is an acknowledged expert in flooding, stormwater and coastal processes. He has worked with the Planning and Environment Court Qld, Land Court Qld, Supreme Court Qld (damages actions), Land & Environment Court NSW, Commissions of Inquiry (various States) and has provided many expert peer reviews. Neil was heavily involved with the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry with reports for six local authorities for LGAQ and also provided expert advice for Ipswich City Council. Neil was also the independent hydraulic expert to the Queensland Government for the North Bank Project. He has worked on major infrastructure projects as a Hydraulic Specialist including Sydney Third Runway, Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Gateway Bridge and Arterial and several coal ports in Queensland and in Indonesia, Power Stations in Queensland and Thailand, hydro-electric schemes in PNG and port dredging management at Cairns, Townsville, Weipa and Mackay. Philip has over 23 years experience in environmental engineering and is a recognised industry expert in coastal, estuarine, and floodplain management. This includes all aspects of storm erosion, coastal recession and stormtide inundation, as well as climate change effects on coastal and floodplain processes. Philip has experience in local government environmental planning and law, especially associated with the coastal zone. Philip has been involved in several Land and Environment court appeals in NSW regarding flooding, wetland inundation and coastal engineering. Darren Lyons BEng Civil (st Class Hons) Greg Fisk BA M.Sci Affairs, M.S.Marine Policy, MEIANZ, Member Australian Coastal Society Luke Kidd BEnvEng(Hons) MEnvSc Darren has a specialised background in both the development and application of numerical models for hydraulic, water quality and sediment transport studies. With over 20 years experience, he has a strong background in flood investigations and management and has developed considerable expertise in numerical modelling. Darren has had key involvement in a range of water resources projects including morphological studies on the Nile River, thermal pollution studies in the Middle East, and the design of flood defences in the Scottish Highlands. Darren s broad experience in the water resources field has had at its core flood study applications, including major rural and urban catchment studies, design and assessment of flooding components for major transport infrastructure and flood impact assessment of urban developments. He has over 7 years experience in preparing, assessing and managing multi-disciplinary environmental plans and impact assessment studies. Greg has a thorough knowledge of environmental law, policy, planning and management throughout Australia. In particular, Greg has specialised expertise in wetland, coastal and marine legislation and planning, climate change, environmental impact assessment and environmental management related to transport and energy infrastructure. Luke has over 2 years experience in catchment and receiving water modelling, urban stormwater and water quality monitoring, environmental impact assessments and development of various GIS based applications for engineering studies. He has extensive technical expertise in hydrodynamic and water quality modelling of receiving water environments (including lakes, estuaries and coastal waters), Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), and stormwater and water quality investigations. Mark Wainwright BEng, Civil (Hons) Mark has over 9 years experience in identifying water management solutions for urban development since the late 990s. He has developed a particular interest in solutions that integrate the management of stormwater runoff, flooding, riparian areas, recycled water and potable water conservation. Mark has assisted state and local government authorities with incorporating guidance on water sensitive development and integrated water cycle management into policies, development control plans and design guidelines. He has applied his experience to assist with the planning of water management strategies for a number of large urban release areas. Mark regularly provides peer review of development proposals on behalf of various local, state and federal government authorities and has provided expert assistance to the NSW Land and Environment Court.
