Job Description Job Title: Reports to: Vice President, Academic Affairs FLSA Status: Exempt Level: 218 Position Class: Job Summary: This position is responsible for the direction and administration of the academic programs on the Bradenton campus. NOTE: Job descriptions and essential functions are subject to change due to advances in technology, utilization of work force, and other factors which may impact the College s need to modify position requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following listing of essential job duties indicates the general nature and level of work required in this job. This is not designed to be a comprehensive listing of all the activities, duties, or responsibilities that may be required in this job. Provides leadership and guidance for the development and management of the academic departments assigned to position on the Bradenton Campus. 2. Demonstrates commitment to the institutional strategic priorities; adheres to and promotes College Rules and Procedures which in turn reflect updated Federal, state, and local legislation that governs the educational process. 3. Supervises the recruitment, selection, hiring, orientation, and retention of a diverse faculty and staff; certifies faculty credentials in accordance with college policy; collaborates with human resources for salary determinations and submits appropriate personnel recommendations to the Vice President, Academic Affairs. 4. Chairs the Curriculum Development and Review committee. 5. Verifies faculty teaching loads and payroll authorizations of instructors. Prepares, reviews, and evaluates the part time/overload reports each semester. 6. Supervises and evaluates academic personnel and career employees as assigned. 7. Provides leadership for the development and implementation of class offerings and schedules on the Bradenton campus. 8. 9. Assists with the preparation of brochures, catalogs, and other marketing materials pertaining to campus offerings 10. Prepares and administers budgets for Bradenton campus academic programs. 11. Serves on, or chairs, various college committees as represents the college on various state and community committees and organizations as appointed and deemed necessary for the continual operation of campus and college functions. 12. Demonstrates leadership in planning and problem solving with effective follow-through, 13. Participates in and encourages professional development opportunities both on and off campus 14. Provides and maintains cellular telephone services and is accessible by cellular phone to the College at all times, except during duly authorized holidays and approved vacation, personal or sick leave. 15. Performs other similar and related duties as assigned. Job Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education/Experience: Earned Doctorate from an accredited university preferred; Master s Degree with exceptional related higher education experience may be substituted for doctoral degree. Five or more years related experience required; some additional formal leadership training programs may be considered for related experience. Supervisory Experience: Five or more years of direct supervisory experience including responsibility for hiring, firing, performance management, training and coaching is required. Language Ability: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to technical questions and/or complaints from college leadership, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the community. Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Job Description 2016 Page 2 of 5

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to work with formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc. Computer Skills: Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, database, e-mail, and reports retrieval software. Certificates and Licenses: None required. Responsibility for People and Property: Supervises the faculty and staff of departments within the assigned academic departments. Oversees the campus academic budgets and aspects of Perkins, Foundation related to Academic Affairs and miscellaneous grants periodically. Responsible for campus academic equipment and software Responsibility for Communication: Internal Contacts: Routine contact with State College of Florida students, faculty, and staff. External Contacts: Routine contact with academic and industry representatives.
