4 Visit Report General Information Diamond Group was established by Mr. Ajay Ramesh Chandra Jain in 1983 with a Steel Rolling Mill at Saurashtra, Gujarat. Over the next 30 years, the group has diversified into ship breaking, import / export, construction, and infrastructure development projects. 5 Visit Report Purpose of Visit Our main purpose of the visit was to be familiar TMT Bar s superior strength & mechanical properties come from using the world s latest TMT technology, a fully computerized (Scada controlling system) Quenching & tempering Process during hot rolling. What We Learnt Diamond TMT Bar s superior strength & mechanical properties come from using the world s latest TMT technology, a fully computerized (Scada controlling system) Quenching & tempering Process during hot rolling. Hence they scores high on ductility. This unique combination of strength and ductility allows engineers and designers to reduce bulk without sacrificing structural safety and build strength. Secondly all the materials and processes are fully procured and managed in-house. This total command on the chain of production process & raw materials makes it possible to control the quality of our products, and also deliver high value for our customer s money. Diamond TMT is produced by the world s most advance technologies approved by the European Building Standards. Diamond TMT bars go through an 5
6 Visit Report advanced, fully automatized, high-speed thermo mechanical Quenching and Tempering process in 3 stages: 1. Quenching; 2. Self Tempering; 3. Atmospheric Cooling; which Makes Diamond TMT 500+ Superior. 6 WHY DIAMOND TMT BARS The Superior TMT Bar Diamond TMT Bar s superior strength & mechanical properties come from using the world s latest TMT technology, a fully computerized process of hardening & tempering using during hot rolling. Superior Products Quality The Diamond TMT bars are made from MS Billet and are manufactured at high speed on a fully automatic machinery to achieve a premium quality product. Excellent quality and finish are delivered with our fully computerized manufacturing unit. Our state-of-the-art steel making facilities lead to stringent quality controls. 100% of the rebars are produced under the compliance to the BIS specifications. Accuracy in Making Grades
7 Visit Report Processed under Tempcone Quenching and self-tempering process. Premium quality output due to leading edge machinery. Simplified design of the plan created through research helps us roll the Bar with efficiency resulting in least temperature loss. Excellent Surface Finish Replacement of conventional steel rolls to SG ACC rolls ensures excellent dimensional tolerance and surface finishing. Bond Strength Uniformity of the rib ensures uniform shape and size, due to which the bars have a better bonding with the surrounding concrete. Bending & Re-bending Excellent bending and re-bending properties, as the product can easily bend around small diameter norms without cracking. The tough outer surface and the soft inner core result in the excellent bend ability value. Weldability Low carbon composition of Diamond TMT bars provide the quality of being butt welding and lap welding using ordinary normal coated electrodes of matching strength.. Corrosion Resistance Quenching and self tempering process of Tempcore ensures that there are no torsional residual stresses in the bar, which result in superior corrosion resistance characteristics. Seismic Resistance Properties TMT process ensures high ductility and malleability. Able to withstand repeated reversed loading sand inelastic strains and stand strong during earthquakes. 7
8 Visit Report Conclusion From this visit, we got information and practical knowledge about mechanical, Chemical & Negative tolerance Statistics of the Steel. They learnt about new technology about Fe 415, Fe 550 & Fe 500 grade of steel. About 50 students were benefited from this visit as they got chance to discuss with authorities working at plant. Thus, this site visit was very delightful and we had a great knowledgeable experience. We were really satisfied and had a great time. 8
