Salmon fresh slicing D-cut slicing High-quality slicing Improved yield and less giveaway Capacities of 50-300 kg/hour Wide slicing angle range 8-45 User-friendly operation
Exceptional D-cut slicing for salmon and trout Marel provides an exceptional range of equipment for fresh slicing of smoked salmon or trout, designed to match all requirements, ranging from standard single units to large-scale production solutions. Marel CP and GEBA slicers have been operating successfully throughout the world ever since 1988. These slicers have undergone constant development and continual improvement to meet customers increasing demands for better quality, yield and capacity. All Marel slicing equipment meets modern salmon processing facilities requirements in terms of reliability, safety, ergonomics, maintenance, hygiene and cleaning. The slicing process Marel D-cut slicers are designed for the soft slicing of cold smoked salmon, hot smoked, graved or marinated salmon as well as other similar types of fish, such as trout, halibut and tuna. The slicer is operated by a single operator, who feeds skinless fillets into the machine. Best slicing results are normally achieved when the temperature of the fillets is between -4 C and +4 C, depending on the texture of the fillet. The fillets are sliced in accordance with the settings stored in the computerised control system. It is easy to change product specifications quickly, using the touch screen. For each fillet, the operator places a gold board on the roller conveyor at the outlet belt. When the fillet has been sliced, the gold board with the entire precut side is removed, ready for further handling. Fixed weight products The most advanced Marel slicer can provide either fixed-weight slices or portions, with very high accuracy. At the in-feed, the fillet is weighed and then scanned by a laser to measure its volume. Using this data, each fillet is assigned a cutting profile that meets the specifications laid down for the final product. This results in better utilisation of the fillets, and better overall yield. Cleaning The slicers are supplied with a cleaning stand that is ideal for rapid, effective cleaning that makes it easy to comply with the appropriate hygiene requirements. The stand can be removed from the machine for cleaning and includes a roller rack for belts, conveyor and machine parts during the cleaning process.
The range of slicers GEBA SC 250 High-capacity slicer featuring new cutting principle GEBA SC 125 V Fixed-weight slicer with exceptional accuracy CP Silk Cut MK-II series Traditional D-cut slicers known for their reliability
GEBA SC 250 High-speed slicing The GEBA SC 250 high-speed slicer is based on the best from both CP and GEBA slicers. It can perform with an impressive capacity of 250 slices/minute, corresponding to about 300 kg/hour making this the fastest slicer for fresh smoked salmon on the market. This exceptionally high throughput is achieved without compromising the slice quality, making the GEBA SC 250 an ideal solution for businesses that need high-volume slicing capabilities. User-friendly operation The user interface on the SC 250 sets new standards for user-friendliness and safety for employees, at all levels. The machine is operated via a unique colour touch screen, where different slicing programs for angle intervals and slice thickness are entered. The user interface is designed to show only the information that each user needs, which makes it easy to understand. Each command is explained, so that users know exactly which operation will be carried out when they select each particular command. The user interface is easy to operate New cutting principle The GEBA SC 250 slicer uses a revolutionary new synchronised cutting principle that makes sure the slicing angle and cutting edge are always in perfect alignment. The fillet profiles are measured at the in-feed conveyor so that the slicing program and the knife movement can both be optimised. The cutting angle interval can be varied from 8 45, thus providing greater flexibility than any standard slicing machine. The fillets are measured at the in-feed to optimise the slicing programme Features - High capacity of up to 250 slices/minute - High-quality slices - Several software apps - User-friendly touch screen - Easy-to-clean design - Foreign-language support - Wide cutting interval 8-45 - Online support High-quality slices at high speed Improved product yield By using the easy set-up procedures for programming slicing profiles, you get better yield because there are more usable slices. Slice thickness and slicing angle can both be varied throughout the fillet, normally resulting in 10 20% better yield. This also means that any problems with small slices at the tail and head of the fillet are kept to a minimum.
GEBA SC 125 V Fixed-weight slicing The GEBA SC 125 V is an outstanding machine for slicing fixed-weight products. It performs with an exceptional degree of accuracy, and delivers top-quality products with minimum giveaway. The GEBA SC 125 V has a slicing capacity of up to 125 cuts per minute, making it the fastest single-lane slicer on the market. Optimum product utilisation Using the Marel Vision scanning system, the GEBA SC 125 V slicer is capable of cutting each single fillet the smartest way to ensure full utilisation of the raw material. The weight and the volume of each fillet is analysed to calculate the best possible cutting profile to match the specified end product, resulting in high-quality products within the target weight. Great software features The GEBA SC 125 V fixed-weight slicer has the same user interface as the GEBA SC 250 unit, for safe, easy operation. Programmes for specific product types can be stored, enabling rapid change-overs from one product to another. Scanning the fillet for calculation of the cutting profile Another practical feature spaces the slices/portions out in order to make it easier to deal with them during packing. It is also possible to run the machine with automatic product length, to ensure end products with uniform length. Dynamic packing line For producing retail packs, all the Marel slicers can be delivered with different packing line set-ups, as required. A dynamic packing line with synchronised belt speed on the feed belt is available for both GEBA SC 250 and GEBA SC 125 V slicers. This packing line is always in sync with the out-feed belt of the slicer, regardless of which slicing programme is being used. The dynamic packing line makes it possible to exploit the product spacing feature to the full, creating an efficient flow for retail packing. High-quality slicing within target weight Features - Fixed-weight slices - High-quality end products - Improved yield - Limited give away - User-friendly touch screen - Added software capabilities - Foreign-language support - Online support App for the GEBA slicers; product spacing feature for easy handling Multiple product options The GEBA slicers have a variety of product applications including standard D-cut slices, bacon cut, sushi slices, hot smoked portions and escalopes of raw salmon.
Silk Cut MK-II series Reliable and traditional D-cut slicing The Silk Cut MK-II is the standard CP slicer model introduced in 2003. The Silk Cut is available in three different configurations: SC 45 A single-lane machine that is a small machine with the advantages of the large machines, because it is based on the same slicing and cleaning principles. Slicing capacity is 45 slices/minute, corresponding to about 50 kg/hour. It permits infinitely variable slice thicknesses and slicing angles, these being set manually. The SC 45 represents a low-cost investment for small businesses that only have limited slicing needs. SC 90 A single-lane machine with a capacity of up to 90 slices/minute, corresponding to about 100 kg/hour. This model has a keyboard for easy, rapid entering of slicing parameters. The current slice thickness, slicing angle and slicing speed are all shown on a display. The SC 90 is the ideal choice for a small business that needs extra slicing capacity. SC 180 A double-lane machine with the same features as the SC 90, but with a slicing capacity of up to about 200 kg/hour. Features - Capacity up to 200 kg/hour - Multiple slicing intervals - Easy-to-clean design - High level of safety - Limited waste - PLC control Slicing options On the SC 45, the standard slicing angle is 10-20. Other 10 degree intervals from 10 to 50 are available to order. The slice thickness can be varied from 2-10 mm. The SC 90 and SC 180 have a standard slicing angle of 8-20. Other 12 degree intervals from 8 to 40 are available to order. The slice thickness can be varied from 2-30 mm. The maximum slice width is 205 mm on all 3 models.
