Aquaculture Technician AGR/Q4912 v1.0 Version No. 1.0 Version Update Date Pre-requisites to Training Training Outcomes Bachelor s degree in Fisheries Science/ Marine Biology/Zoology After completing this programme, participants will be able to: Perform breeding, seed production and hatchery preparation: Able to prepare hatchery (based on hatchery type), selection of ideal species (freshwater, brackishwater or marine fish species) and technology for breeding, Selection of broodstock, broodstock management, water quality management,, understanding potential diseases and management ensuring biosecurity measures, water exchange dechlorination, aeration, disinfection and proper cleaning etc. Effectively manage hatchery operation: ensure stocking of healthy larvae/seed, carry out culture as well as preservation of live feed organisms, live feed preparation and formulation, water quality management, seed packaging and transportation, use of probiotics and medicines to minimise bacterial and fungal infections, preparation of feed charts, quarantine protocols, selection of quality broodstock for breeding, supervise breeding schedule and spawning process, produce quality seeds, seed acclimatization to required salinity, transportation etc. Expert in management of seed stocking and transportation : Determining adequate manpower, allocation of manpower, facilitate communication, provide proper training to hatchery workers, supervisors etc Management of hatchery budgets and report preparation: Maintain records, data compilation and comprehensive report preparation, developing hatchery budget, keeping track record of previous years hatchery operations Regulate safety, hygiene and sanitation practices: : ensure biosecurity, maintaining hygiene and health of seeds at various stages of growth, identifying common preys and predators, protective clothing and gear, regular inspection of pathogenic infections, and disease outbreaks and quarantine 4

Trainer Prerequisites for Job role: mapped to Qualification Pack: AGR/Q4912, v1.0 Sr. No. Area Details 1 Description Trainer is responsible for educating the trainees Breeding and seed production of aquatic organisms. This includes responsibilities such as broodstock selection and management, preparation of hatchery for operations, breeding and larval rearing, preparing reports and managing hatchery budget, supervising staff etc. 2 Personal Trainer should be Subject Matter Expert. He/ she should have good Attributes communication, leadership, observation and practical oriented skills. 3 Minimum B.F.Sc. preferably Educational Qualifications 4a Domain Certification Certified for Job Role: mapped to QP: AGR/Q4912, v1.0. Minimum accepted score is 80% 4b Platform Certification Certified for the Job Role: Trainer, mapped to the Qualification Pack: MEP/Q0102. Annexure: Assessment Criteria Assessment Criteria Job Role Qualification Pack AGR/Q4912, v1.0 Sector Skill Council Agriculture Guidelines for Assessment 1. Criteria for assessment for each Qualification Pack will be created by the Sector Skill Council. Each Performance Criteria (PC) will be assigned marks proportional to its importance in NOS. SSC will also lay down proportion of marks for Theory and Skills Practical for each PC 2. The assessment for the theory part will be based on knowledge bank of questions created by the SSC 3. Individual assessment agencies will create unique question papers for theory part for each candidate at each examination/training center (as per assessment criteria below) 4. Individual assessment agencies will create unique evaluations for skill practical for every student at each examination/training center based on this criteria 5. To pass the Qualification Pack, every trainee should score a minimum of 70% in aggregate 6. In case of successfully passing only certain number of NOS's, the trainee is eligible to take subsequent assessment on the balance NOS's to pass the Qualification Pack 9
