Quality Declaration - Trade of goods by CIS and other countries of the world 0 General information on statistical product 0.1 Name Trade of goods by CIS and other countries of the world 0.2 Subject Area Foreign Trade 0.3 Responsible Authority, Office, Person, etc. Mrs. Kristine Poghosyan Head Balance of Payments and Foreign Trade Statistics Division National Statistical Service of the Republic of Armenia 3 Government House, Republic Avenue, Yerevan 0010, the Republic of Armenia Phone: +374 11 583 995 Fax: + 374 11 521 921 Email: kristina@armstat.am, info@armstat.am 0.4 Purpose and History The information is necessary to receive summary data on goods circulation with CIS countries and other countries of the world and to use it for compilation of RA balance of payments, as well as to provide users with necessary information on volumes of export and import by separate countries. 0.5 Users and Application The main users of statistical information are the state government and local self-government bodies, public, scientific-educational, financial organizations, business society, mass media, international organizations, etc. Indicators of trade of goods by CIS countries and other countries of the world are applied in the field of economy for the purposes of strategy development, solutions of strategic tasks, analysis of foreign investments in the economic fields, analysis of business environment, revealing social development trends and other purposes. 0.6 Information Sources The source of data is the customs statistics.

0.7 Legal Authority to Collect Data The data is collected based on the RA laws On State Statistics and Three-Year State Statistical Work Program, as well as the Resolution No. 11-N of RA State Council on Statistics On Approval of the Procedure for the Presentation of Statistical Information dated October 03, 2003, and Resolutions on Approval of Annual State Statistical Work Program. 0.8 Response Burden (Primary information providers) The response burden is not measured. 1 Content 1.1 Description of Content Trade of goods by CIS and other countries of the world includes the data on volumes of export and import by CIS countries, the countries of the external world and European Union (EU). 1.2 Statistical Concepts Export goods sent out of the border of the country for free circulation in economic territories of other countries, which reduce the reserves of the material resources of the country. Goods are deemed to be exported at the moment, when they are exported from the economic territory of the country. Volumes of export are calculated in FOB prices. FOB value of goods includes the value of the goods and services, which are provided by the time the goods are shipped to the port of the importing country, after which all expenses and risks are covered by the buyer. Import the goods imported into the economic territory of the country for free circulation, which add to the reserves of material resources of the country. The goods are deemed to be imported at the moment, when they are imported into the economic territory of the country. Imported volumes are calculated in CIF prices. The CIF value of goods includes the FOB value of goods and the value of the services, which are provided starting from the country border up to the port of the importing country, i.e. all expenses and risks up to the port of the importing country are carried out by the seller. 2

Characheristic features of partner countries are highly emphasized during import, which are as follows: 1. characteristics of the partner country by the country of goods origin, 2. characteristics of the partner country by goods delivery, 3. characteristics of the partner country by the country, which concluded purchase agreement. In order to determine the partner country characteristics by features of the goods origin the following main principleis taken into consideration: entirely produced, received in the given country. In order to define the characteristics of the partner trading country by goods delivery the following main principle is taken into account: from which country the goods are shipped to directly trading country. In order to determine the characteristics of partner country by purchase - the feature of the country concluding a contract, the following main principleis taken into account - the resident of which country the buyer has concluded the contract with. Money gold, securities in circulation, banknotes and coins, transit goods, the goods being imported and exported through operational lease, the goods sent to territorial enclaves or received are not included in the volumes of export and import. The economic territory of the country covers the geographical territory, which is under control of the government and where goods, persons and capital are freely moved. RA resident is considered to be the physical person, household, any legal peson (organization) or any economic entity operating in the territory of RA, the permanent residence of which or the center of economic interests of which is the Republic of Armenia. The geographical coverage of the Republic of Armenia corresponds to the economic territory of the country. The economic territory of the Republic of Armenia is adjusted to its customs territory in order to implement international trade statistics. 2 Time 2.1 Reference Period Monthly Publication groupings Data are published according to the following groups: - external trade turnover and indicators of trade balance by separate countries, - foreign trade by separate countries, - volumes of humanitarian aid by countries, - foreign trade according to Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity at 2-digit level classification. 2.2 Date of Publication Monthly (operative) data is published on the 20th of the month following the reference period, the first monthly publication-on the 30/31st day following the reference period and the annual indicators are published in the 2nd and 3th quarters of the year following the reference period. 2.3 Punctuality Data is published in accordance with the schedule of publications according to annual programs and no delay from the scheduled date has been reported. 2.4 Frequency Monthly 3 Accuracy 3.1 Overall Accuracy There are no specific quantitative evaluations related to the overall accuracy. 3.2 Sources of Inaccuracy Data collection is implemented based on data of the customs declarations of legal persons and physical persons organized trade received from Customs Service of RA State Revenue Committee, as well as on the basis of the information of the statistical form on 4

Registration of goods transportation," on a monthly basis. 3.3 Measures on accuracy/ Measurability Accuracy of data (in current prices) of customs declarations, trade implemented by physical persons, as well as of the statistical form on Registration of goods transportation in the reference period of the current year is carried out by comparing with the relevant data submitted for the same period of the previous year. 4 Comparability 4.1 Comparability over Time 4.2 Comparability with other Statistics 4.3 Coherence between Provisional and Final Statistics Before 2003, the indicator has been presented in accordance with the CIS Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity rev.2. In 2003-2007 the Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity rev.3 has been implemented, in 2007-2012 the CIS Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity rev.4 has been implemented, in 2013-2014 the CIS Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity rev.5 has been implemented. Started from 2015 the EEU Commodity Nomenclature of External Economic Activity is implemented. There is no comparability with other statistics. Data published for the first time is qualified as preliminary. Modified data is accompanied with explanatory footnotes while carrying out modifications. Preliminary data is reviewed based on corrections and other verifications submitted by the Customs Service of RA State Revenue Committee. The final data is presented in annual publications. 5 Accessibility 5

Electronic databases include: For legal persons: 1) number of the customs declaration, 2) date of import or export of goods, 3) regions codes according to the organization's place of registration, 4) transaction type codes and codes of basic custom s procedures, 5 ) codes of extended customs procedures, 6 ) organization taxpayer registration number, 7) name and legal address of exporter and the recipient organization, 8) product code according to Commodity Nomenclature of Foreign Economic Activity (CNFEA), 6
