June 1 st is almost here! It s time to be GHS compliant If you are a manufacturer, supplier, or a user of chemicals, you already know you are required to comply with GHS. As your organization prepares for compliance, keep in mind the 4 major changes all workers who have contact with hazardous chemicals must understand: TABLE OF CONTENTS LEARN Training Programs IDENTIFY Labels Classification of Chemicals Chemical manufacturers and importers must provide specific criteria to address health and physical hazards of the chemicals they produce and import. Standardized Label Format All labels should follow a standardized format which includes six specific elements. Standardized Safety Data Sheets (SDS) Safety Data Sheets should follow a 16-section format. Information and Training All employees should be fully trained on new label elements, SDS format, and all new GHS requirements. DOWNLOAD: Your GHS Compliance Checklist Printers Signs ORGANIZE Right-to-Know Stations SDS Binders SERVICES Did You Know In 2015, the HazCom standard was #2 on OSHA s list of Top 10 Most Frequently Cited Violations

Did You Know? GHS Compliance To Do List: 1. Learn 2. Identify 3. Organize LEARN Train Your People about GHS Compliance Training is the crucial first step in your GHS compliance journey. OSHA requires training for all current and new employees working with hazardous chemicals. Employees must learn about the new GHS label elements and safety data sheet (SDS) format. Their understanding is fundamental to the success of your HazCom program. PHYSICAL GHS Pictograms and Hazard Classifications PHYSICAL PHYSICAL Don t forget annual re-training! Make it a part of your HazCom plan so your employees always know exactly what they need to do to stay safe and achieve compliance. LEARN CLMI GHS Training Program The comprehensive training program that t ensures your employees are educated on mandatory GHS requirements: Comes with two DVD training programs that emphasize new GHS Label and SDS requirements Features printable GHS PowerPoint slides to make training easy and organized Includes supplementary GHS materials such as SDS binders and employee handbooks VIDEO: How to Make GHS Training a Breeze

Did You Know? GHS Compliance To Do List: 1. Learn 2. Identify 3. Organize IDENTIFY Clearly and accurately convey chemical hazards Chemical labeling is the next step in the GHS compliance journey and focuses on identifying hazardous chemicals in your workplace. Labeling is crucial in any environment that handles dangerous chemicals which can cause injury or death. Learn about the 6 elements of a GHS-compliant label - download the guide below. Hazard pictograms are symbols that visually represent a chemical warning. Pictograms are universally recognized and help reduce confusion and fatal accidents. Comply now! Seton has a wide range of chemical labels and pictograms to help you comply. Click Here to See More. GHS Pictograms on-a-roll GHS Tags on-a-roll DOWNLOAD: 6 GHS Label Elements Guide

IDENTIFY VIDEO: How to Create GHS Compliant Labels GHS Secondary Container Labels Boldly identify chemical contents while complying with OSHA s GHS requirements Durable vinyl labels feature write-on areas for specifying unique chemical contents Pictograms convey hazardous chemicals in an easily understandable visual format (sold separately) Flexible adhesive backing sticks to flat or uneven surfaces GHS Scenario PROBLEM: Every Monday Robert, a manufacturing employee, dispenses acetone from a tank at his facility into a secondary container. He then transfers it to a smaller bottle and takes it to his work area for use throughout the week. Until now, he always just put a label on the bottle reading Acetone and added HMIS info to show the dangers. What should he do now to comply?

GHS Mini Pictogram Label Sheets and Rolls Quickly identify hazards with universally recognizable symbols Pre-printed die cut vinyl labels display GHS chemicals Available in convenient sheets or rolls to fit every application Harmful / Irritant IDENTIFY Environmental Hazard Self-adhesive backing resists fading, moisture, and dirt Compressed Gas Oxidizing IDENTIFY hazards found in chemicals CLASSIFY hazards WARN employees visually Seton Suggests Use pictograms and label formats that are consistent nt with the primary containers ne in order to: Decrease likelihood ih of injury Cut training time and costs Standardize your approach to labeling Toxic Explosive Flammable Corrosive Health Hazard DOWNLOAD: Pictogram Reference Sheet

IDENTIFY Features easy-to-read touch screen Create labels directly on printer with pre-loaded apps for most common label types Choose between stand alone printer or connect to PC Prints up to 4 labels BBP31 Sign & Label Printer Create and print large quantities of GHS-compliant labels on demand Print labels in an instant and save time ideal for large facilities and warehouses Choose from hundreds of pictograms and graphics to clearly convey GHS hazards Add custom graphics to your labels simply load them to a USB drive, plug into printing port, and go! Includes cleaning kit for proper maintenance and optimum performance Tape conveniently includes pre-printed red GHS diamonds Bonus The BBP31 comes with a 5-year warranty and includes a power cord, USB cable, stylus pen, software, and cleaning kit! ORGANIZE Keep Hazardous Chemical Information Organized, Consistent and Readily Available Organize your workplace The final step in the GHS compliance journey focuses on creating an organized workplace environment for employees who handle hazardous chemicals. Did You Know? GHS Compliance To Do List: 1. Learn 2. Identify 3. Organize SDS replaces MSDS MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) have been replaced with SDS (Safety Data Sheets), which present chemical information in a simpler, more streamlined manner. The new SDS features a universal 16-section format that includes information about chemical classification and potential chemical dangers, making it faster and easier to find the information you need. GHS Deluxe Right-to-Know Station Comply now! Seton can provide you with all the GHS products you need such as SDS binders, SDS and Right-to-Know Stations, and informational signs to keep your facility safe and compliant. DOWNLOAD: The 16 Sections of an SDS

GHS Safety Data Sheet Station Keep crucial SDS information in one central location to ensure quick access and visibility ORGANIZE Station features a 16 W x 22 H durable backboard, wire rack, and an SDS Binder with an attached chain to prevent misplacement Choose from a single (includes 2 binder for storing up to 400 SDS sheets) or double station (includes 3 binder for storing up to 600 SDS sheets) Replacement SDS binders are also available in English and English/Spanish in a number of sizes GHS Scenario PROBLEM: Andrew, a Safety Manager, purchases 15 different chemicals for use in his manufacturing operation. When he performs an audit of his facility s SDS library, he notices that many documents are 4 years old and he isn t sure if they follow the new format outlined in the new GHS standard. What should he do to comply? See SOLUTION VIDEO: How to Update MSDS to SDS Did You Know You can find most of the SDS you need online or through third party providers, such as MSDSonline.com
