It is one of four blocks within the Tuapae Farms Ltd business. It is a diverse 920ha property, carrying Deer, Cattle and Sheep, with both breeding and finishing. is a family owned farming business operating 45 km west of Hastings in the farming community of Kereru. Job Title: - General Farm Hand 3 days per week - Stockman General 2 days per week Position Overview: This role is a job share role between two properties that are around 5 minutes apart. Both are breeding and finishing operations requiring a person who is capable in all aspects of farming from stock work through to tractor work, fencing and any other general tasks. Our clients are looking for a self-starter with a practical can-do attitude who enjoys taking ownership and pride in their work. You must be able to follow a plan but also have the ability to use your initiative when required. A maximum of 3 dogs is required to carry out the roles. : Reporting directly to the Farm Manager this role will offer you a variety of tasks from tractor driving and fencing through to stock work. You will need a sound knowledge of all aspects of daily work on farm in particular tractor work, from Ag work through to feeding out. There will be some fencing work including 6ft deer and seven wire conventional and some electric. Some experience with handling deer would be beneficial although not essential. : Reporting directly to the Farm Manager, there will be a 70:30 Page 1 of 8
split between stock work and general work. A good understanding of all aspects of farming is required, you will need to enjoy working one on one and also on your own at times. You will need to have a good understanding of fencing both conventional and R&M. The ability to use your initiative and take pride in your work is key to your success in this role.
