ORDER MANAGEMENT CLOUD SERVICE CLOUD FULFILLMENT WITH CPQ CLOUD FOR FULL QUOTE TO CASH FLOW By using the predefined integration that exists between Oracle Configure, Price, and Quote (CPQ) Cloud Service, Oracle Order Management Cloud Service, Oracle Global Order Promising Cloud Service, and Oracle ERP (Finance) Cloud Service, you can support the complete quote to cash business flow in the Cloud. In Release 10, source orders must originate in the Oracle CPQ Cloud Service. It is our intent to expand to other order sources in later releases. This integration supports a variety of process flows, including the following: Convert an Oracle CPQ Cloud Service quote to an order, fulfill and bill the order directly through Oracle Inventory Management Cloud Service and Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Cloud Service, and receive status updates Process kits and multilevel, pick to order (PTO) configurations Process new, revise, and cancel order types Process recurring billing charges, including status changes and real-time updates to financial systems Intelligently schedule orders for delivery ORDER MANAGEMENT CLOUD Order Management Cloud is designed to improve order execution for the order to cash process. It includes predefined integrations, centrally managed orchestration policies, and global availability and fulfillment monitoring that can help increase customer satisfaction and order profitability. MONITOR ORDER PROGRESS AND MANAGE EXECPTIONS With centralized monitoring and exception management capabilities, you can quickly view statuses, identify problems, investigate root causes of problems, and take corrective action. For example, you can: Monitor the status and exceptions of orders that must be fulfilled Display orders according to customer, product, fulfillment location, supplier, status, or age Deliver proactive alerts for order lines that might become exceptions Identify and display order lines that are at risk of not meeting promise dates 3
Display process execution data, including milestones and visual alerts for jeopardy items Fix exceptions, one or more lines at a time Use embedded business intelligence to resolve exceptions PROACTIVELY MANAGE POTENTIAL PROBLEM ORDERS To increase customer satisfaction and the on-time order fulfillment rate, you can define a fulfillment completion step that is part of the fulfillment process. This step dynamically computes the expected fulfillment date during order processing, and then raises alerts that identify orders that might not meet fulfillment dates. With this capability, you can identify issues with sufficient lead-time and take corrective actions that are timely, accurate, and effective. You can do the following: Locate the problematic process step before the fulfillment date is compromised Perform process planning according to dates that you choose and updates to attributes Deliver alerts for order lines that might become exceptions Identify order lines that are at risk of not meeting promise dates AUTOMATE PROCESSING OF CHANGE ORDERS To reduce the amount of time required to process changes, you can use change order management to control how to change orders during order fulfillment. Change order management ensures that change orders are handled consistently, and that compensation steps such as rescheduling inventory or performing rollbacks are automatically applied. Using change order management, you can: Identify differences, such as a change in quantity between the current order and the change order, that determine how that change is processed. Define the process steps that a change order affects, and then adjust the fulfillment process so that it meets the conditions that the changed order requires Keep fulfillment systems synchronized with changes. Send notifications of pending changes so that fulfillment systems stop processing the current order until the changes are received ENRICH ORDERS FOR FULFILLMENT To realize faster and lower-cost order processing, you can reduce the number of order touches that slow down order processing. You can add fulfillment information, such as attributes or product details, to an order to assist with processing. You can also separate a complex order into individual, interrelated fulfillment plans. You can assign different processes to order lines that use fulfillment logic that is tailored to the needs of each order line, thereby fulfilling products and services as efficiently as possible. 4
You can use a simple and non-technical rule editor to define order enrichment rules and process assignment rules. DEFINE ORDER PROCESSING YOUR WAY Using a non-technical process definition interface, you can decrease the costs associated with defining business processes and functional implementation costs. You can use predefined fulfillment processes, or easily create custom fulfillment processes that meet your specific business requirements. When you define order processing, you can: Create order line flows that use standard, conditional, parallel, or interrelated logic Define change order rules Define rules that can calculate order completion dates according to request dates Define common statuses to use for all quote-to-cash processes RECOVER FROM ORDER PROCESSING ERRORS You can use the Order Management work area to reduce the time required to locate, investigate, and recover from order processing errors. This work area provides a single dashboard where you can manage a single order or a group of orders. You can: View process execution, including milestones and visual alerts Fix exceptions one or more lines at a time, or assign lines to fulfillment processes Take bulk action to recover from one or more errors GLOBAL ORDER PROMISING CLOUD Global Order Promising Cloud is an optional component of Order Management Cloud that matches order demand with available inventory, inbound shipments, purchase orders, and requisitions. As orders arrive, Global Order Promising Cloud selects the best fulfillment location based on current and future availability, expected delivery date, and preferred delivery method. Global Order Promising Cloud can also allocate scarce supply to specific customers or channels. 5
CALCULATE ACCURATE PROMISE DATES IN REAL TIME You can promise each order immediately as it arrives, taking existing commitments into account. Global Order Promising Cloud considers both lead time and availability constraints, resulting in more accurate promise dates. You can do the following: Consider current and future supply, including on-hand and in-transit inventory, purchase orders, and purchase requisitions Define available-to-promise (ATP) rules that apply to all items within an organization, to an item across all organizations, or to individual combinations of items and organizations Calculate ATP dates based on current or future supply at the target location Calculate capable-to-promise (CTP) dates for items that are not available at the target location, but can be bought or transferred to fulfill the order Account for transit and processing lead times Use pure lead-time or infinite availability promising rules when inventory information is not available, or when items are stocked in bulk Specify shipment sets to ensure that all lines on an order (or any subset) ship together Respect shipping and receiving calendars, minimum and maximum order sizes, item and location effectivity, resource capacity, and other constraints ALLOCATE LIMITED SUPPLY TO THE RIGHT CUSTOMERS You can define rules that set aside current and future supply for specific customers, sales channels, regions, or other demand classes. Defining rules enables you to: Ensure that each customer or channel gets a fair share of available supply by allocating a percentage or ratio of demand to each Ensure that hot products go to priority customers by allocating a fixed quantity of supply to them Review the total, consumed, and remaining quantities of allocated products at any time REFINE PROMISING STRATEGIES TO IMPROVE RESULTS You can configure rules that change how orders are fulfilled so that you can increase profits or deal with changes in supply or demand. You can: Leverage built-in profitable-to-promise capabilities to select the fulfillment method that automatically delivers items on schedule with the lowest item, resource, and transit costs Split lines across fulfillment locations when the total quantity is not available in one location, or across time if the total quantity is not available all at once 6
Switch from ATP to CTP for long-horizon orders, preserving on-hand inventory for shorthorizon demand Change transit modes to expedite orders or reduce transportation costs ADDRESS FULFILLMENT PROBLEMS WITH A DYNAMIC USER INTERFACE While most order promising is automatic, you can use the Global Order Promising Cloud graphical user interface to respond to fulfillment problems or exploit new sources of supply. With the dynamic user interface, you can: Review total supply, consumption, and net availability Prioritize batches of order lines for scheduling by a wide variety of criteria, including jeopardy score, expected ship date, and monetary value Perform interactive what-if comparison of promising alternatives Select alternate sourcing locations, shipment methods, and line splitting options Consult real-time graphics to see the before-and-after impact of repromising on delivery delays and fulfillment costs Substitute items to deal with shortages, improve service, or lower cost Remove items from shipment sets if they re backordered, allowing other items to ship earlier Override allocation rules to resolve customer service issues MANAGE GLOBAL ORDER PROMISING IN THE CLOUD You can perform all order promising end-user and administration tasks in a public cloud service, ensuring global access and continuous availability of promising services. You can: Use web services to check availability of items Enable 24x7 promising with an advanced memory-resident architecture Start, stop, and refresh the promising engine through scheduled jobs, or as needed through an administration console Detect, correct, and reprocess collection errors with an enhanced error management framework If needed, download the online data store to debug order promising-related issues 7
