Login 1. Select the POS icon. 2. Choose your name from the Name list. 3. Select Keyboard on Login screen. 4. Enter password in Password field. 5. Select Enter on Keyboard screen. Open for a Serving Period Select the correct serving period or you will have to void and re-enter transactions. 1. Go to Main Menu > Open Terminal. 2. CONFIRM that the date is correct. If correct, Select Yes. If not correct, Select No and Select date. 3. Select a serving period button. 4. If instructed, enter an opening till amount. 5. Select Enter. You are now ready to process sales. See Process Sales Tasks section. Close a Serving Period Only close after a serving period if you have been instructed or if you change lines between serving periods. 1. Select Close on the Point of Service screen. 2. Go to Main Menu > Close Terminal. 3. Perform one of the following options. IF Delaying Count Totaling the Register THEN a. Select Delay Count. The Main Menu displays. Open the terminal for another serving period, if necessary. b. Select Close. a. Count currency and enter quantities in the Count Totals sections. Enter counts, not amounts. For example, for five $5.00 bills, enter 5, not 25. b. Enter a value in Other Money field, if necessary. c. Verify each check received. d. Select Total Register. e. Check register amounts. If correct, Select Close. If not correct, Select Void and re-enter currency amounts.
Search for a Patron 1. Select Patron Search. 2. Choose a filtering method. F2-Name Search: Select to show all patrons by name. This is the default search method. F2-Number Search: Select to show all patrons by patron ID. F3-No ID Sale: Select to show No ID patrons available to sell menu items. F4-Room Search: Select to show all room numbers by floor and building. 3. Use the keyboard to enter letters or numbers in the text field to find a patron by the filtering method chosen. 4. Choose the patron in the list. 5. Select Enter to display the patron s account. Point of Service Screen 1 2 3 4 5 2 3 4 5 1 PIN: Enter patron's PIN. Patron Search: Select to manually search for a patron. No ID Sales: Select the applicable button to sell to a No ID account. Left Line/Right Line: Select to show a customer s account if you use PIN input devices. Menu: Shows the scheduled menu for the day. Choose a different menu, if necessary. 6 7 6 7 Additional Functions: Auto Sale: Select to quickly sell the menu item on the Auto Sale/Quick position on the menu grid. View Journal: Select to view the sales transactions in a journal format. Sales Modes: Select to Sell by Patron Category or Ala Carte Mode. More: Select to access additional options. Send Message: Select to easily communicate with the line 1 machine. Current Till Total: Select to view the current amount of money that should be in the register. Left/Right Handed: Select to override the left/right handed setting. Change Mode: Select to change the serving period without having to open/close the terminal. Previous Patron Section: Shows after the first transaction for the serving period has been processed. Shows the previous patron's account balances. Select Print Receipt to print a sales receipt for the patron.

Auto Sale Position: Shows the item that is automatically sold in Auto Sale mode. Menu Grid: Shows menu items, item groups or menus. Enter: Select to process the sale. If money is owed, the Tender screen displays. Quantity Lock: Select to lock the Quantity feature to continuously sell more than one of an item. Quantity: Select to quickly sell more than one of an item. Message Field: Shows messages or alerts about the current patron. Deposit: Select to make a deposit. 23 21 22 Total: Shows sum of all items being purchased. This appears after items are Selected. Acct.: Shows sales amount being paid from patron account. Owed: Shows total cash amount due from patron. Select Enter and the Tender screen displays. View Journal: Select to show the Transaction Journal screen. Patron Info: Select to show the patron s name, ID, and comments. Close: Select to cancel the sale and close the screen. Sales Item List Controls: Detail: Select to show or hide item payment method details. Clear All: Select to clear all menu items in Sales Items list. Yellow: Below the low balance threshold. This color serves as a warning to the user. Red: Account is not available for use. The spending or charge limit may be reached, a meal has already been purchased or account balance is zero (if no limitations are set on the account). Photo/Sales Items List: Shows the patron photo or lists all items Selected for the sale. The following identifies basic information. CR: Shows meal Credit (1 per serving period) typically. Numeric Value: Shows quantity of a la carte menu items Selected. 10 11

Owed: Shows the amount owed from the patron, decreases as money is entered. Cash: Enter the amount of cash received. Check: Enter the check amount. Check #: Enter the check number. Credit/Debit: Shows the amount being charged to the card. Change: Shows amount due to the patron. This is the amount owed less the amount received. Contribution: Shows additional money added to the patron s account when making deposits, if contributions are configured. Account: Enter amount to add to the account (The account title can be changed, therefore may be different from this illustration.) Change to Acct: (Quick Deposit) Select the value button that corresponds to the amount of cash received. The amount automatically adds to the patron s account. End Sale: Select to process the sale. Patron Info: Select to populate the Patron Information area. Patron Information: Shows the patron's name, comments, and location assignment. Select the Comment section to display comments and alerts. Select Patron Info (40) to hide the information. 42 43 44 Close: Select to exit the Tender screen and return to the Point of Service screen. Change to Cust: (Quick Cash Back) Select the value button that corresponds to the amount of cash received. The amount due shows in the Change field. Credit Card Status/Instruction: Shows information regarding the credit card transaction.
