Medicines Safety Officer MEDICAL DIRECTORATE up to 4 SESSIONS PER WEEK NHS England (North - Yorkshire and the Humber) is responsible for the commissioning of primary care services, in conjunction with our local Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs), as well as having responsibility for the assurance of our local CCGs. We work with all 23 CCGs, and other partners, across the area to support the commissioning of high quality, sustainable care services for the population of Yorkshire and the Humber. The Medical Directorate responsibilities include: The Responsible Officer function (inclusion on the performer list, responding to concerns, medical appraisal and revalidation); Clinical Advice support to complaints team and clinical advice relating to quality and safety of services; Clinical Strategy supporting improvements in quality of services and outcomes across the system; Other statutory functions Accountable Officer Controlled Drugs (AOCD) and Caldicott Guardian (CG) role. An excellent opportunity for development and introduction to the medical team has arisen. We are looking for an enthusiastic pharmacist or registered pharmacy technician to provide sessional support to key priority areas/projects, of the Controlled Drugs Accountable Officer, as laid out in The Controlled Drugs (Supervision of Management and Use) Regulations 2013, and NHS England Single Operating Model 2013. Experience and qualifications: The successful applicant should have current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) as a pharmacist or pharmacy technician and an excellent understanding of primary care. Experience and expertise within the supervision and management of Controlled Drugs would be a distinct advantage, but not essential.you will also be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and be a credible practitioner who can influence and command the respect of your peers. This will be managed through an SLA arrangement which will be reviewed at least 6 monthly and NHS England (North) may decide to decrease or increase the required hours, or terminate the arrangement, as determined by the requirements of the role. The hourly rate for this role will be negotiable based on experience and skills for this role, the current requirement is for approximately four 4 hour sessions per week. Working days and times may be flexed to suit the successful applicants and the successful candidates will also be expected to be flexible (with appropriate notice) in order to deliver the requirements of the role.
