HerdMetrix Herd Management Software HerdMetrix is BouMatic s world class herd management software included with the SmartDairy software. HerdMetrix manages vital production information from your cows in a user-friendly, windowsbased software package. HerdMetrix utilizes the most up-to-date parameters in herd and individual cow management. Efficient, intuitive data entry reduces time spent at the management computer and reduces user error. Performance data can be summarized in customized management reports that you develop. Management reports, together with the Combined Action List of the recent days management events, give you the ultimate tool for catching herd health issues before they start robbing you of your profits. http://www.boumatic.com/

Previous analysis Almost everything is given for the effective management and control: detailed recording of the data problem solving capabilities of the various subsystems What we need? A computer interpretable technological overview of simplified balances that bridges the gap between the software tools and the field experts motivates the collection and usage of available data helps to use the data in deeper investigations helps to use the data in the higher scale There are still some open questions: utilization of data for the selection of optimal life cycle in lower scale control application of data for the trans-sectorial transparency in higher scale control

Task 2. Interfacing to trans-sectorial transparency

An example route in the model

Conclusions for the ongoing work There might be a gap between the available data & software tools and the farm management. This gap can be bridged by a computer interpretable technological flowsheet that supports the overview of simplified balances. Direct Computer Mapping of process model seems to be a possible solution of this problem. In addition to interfacing role, the process model can contribute to the solution of actual tasks, e.g.: - analysis of milk production of individual cows with various life cycle, and - connecting the system to trans-sectorial transparency

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION! Acknowledgement The research was funded by the TÁMOP-4.2.2.A-11/1/KONV-2012-0038 and Reg_DD_KFI_09 research programs. I would like to also express my thanks to BOS-FRUCHT for making possible to work in their dairy system.
