7. Noise Limits EPA Licence Sections: 3L5 Type of Monitoring Point: Noise monitoring Units of Measure: db(a) Monitoring Frequency: Yearly. Normally in December. Sampling Method: Professional standard noise logger EPA Identification Number: Nil Location Description: The dwelling identified as Landholder Key 13 in Figure ES 2 of the EIS. (Refer to Figure 5, below.) Summary: Noise monitoring was conducted between 14 20 December 2012. Results for this session have not yet been analysed. Previous Results 29/12/2011 5/1/2012: The EPA limit of 35dB applies except during rain or where wind speeds are greater than 3m/s (10.8km/h). Although the L eq only exceeded 35dB during night time, weather data indicate that much of the noise logged during the seven day period would have been caused by wind at speeds of greater than 3m/s. Attended noise monitoring has shown that there are multiple sources of noise at this location including wind gusts, birds, aeroplanes, highway and local traffic, and machine noise from other mining operations in the area. Noise from the MSP is generally of a low level, with the occasional louder noise (up to 36.6dB) of Haul Trucks entering or leaving the site. No noise complaints have been received since the MSP began operations in 2005. Table 7.
