To overcome this delay, Coldwater worked with a client to develop a suite of specialized, automated repair tools that we have kitted and containerized. These kits eliminate the need for rotor removal, decreasing turbine downtime from weeks to days. The next generation of these tools being developed will include robots for field deployment, further reducing repair time.
