16 Microplates Services Microplate Coating Service PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences will custom coat any standard microplate, FlashPlate, or ScintiPlate with a reagent of your choice and will accommodate large package sizes or modified packaging. We combine advanced facilities and automated equipment with years of proven expertise in microplate technology to meet your needs quickly, effectively, and economically. Our manufacturing processes are flexible. We can: Utilize your coating process and protocol with our equipment. Develop an application-specific coating process for you. Modify the formulation of existing coated plates, as needed. Use a plate coating process developed and optimized by PerkinElmer. Use of existing raw materials and test methods, either from your lab or ours, significantly reduces lead times. Lot size capabilities vary depending upon the number of plate coating process steps. General Guidelines: Lead times Maximum lot size 2 weeks for samples 4 6 weeks for full-scale order 4,000 plates 96-well 2,000 plates 384-well Microplate Bar Coding Service Most of the microplates in this booklet can be supplied with high-quality bar code labels. Bar codes will be printed on plastic labels that are waterproof, scratchproof, DMSO resistant and withstand freezing to -80 C. Any 2D bar code type is supported (code 39, code 128, code ITF, etc.) and any sequence can be printed. Labels can be applied to any side of the microplate. 17 Innovative Design Improvements All new PerkinElmer microplates have footprint dimensions in line with the proposed SBS industry standard. This guarantees compatibility with all microplate-based instrumentation. The microplates contain a pinch bar (see technical drawings below) to facilitate manual and automated processing using robotized systems. Moreover, the increased nesting tolerances and ribbed underside avoid stacker jams in HTS protocols, even with sealed microplates! To improve identification, all new PerkinElmer plates have printed product names, and the new black microplates have a white area for easy marking.
