INNOVATIVE BUILDING SYSTEM [ IBS ]
The IBS (Innovative Building System) is an innovative construction system, covered by an international patent. HIGHLY INNOVATIVE
MAIN FEATURES OF THE IBS SYSTEM BY AUREA Anti-seismic Very high energy savings Ecological Healthy and hygienic Cyclone-resistant High level of sound-proofing Fire resistant High construction speed Economical PURE ORGANIC
ANTI-SEISMIC ANTI-SEISMIC The results of a study conducted by Prof. Franco Braga, Professor of Structural Analysis and Design at La Sapienza University of Rome, Chairman of ANIDIS (Associazione Nazionale Italiana di Ingegneria Sismica/Italian National Association of Earthquake Engineering), Member of the European Anti-seismic Commission and Member of the World Anti-seismic Commission, have confirmed the earthquake-resistant quality of the IBS Construction System by Aurea. Prof. Ing. Franco Braga
ANTI-SEISMIC ANTI-SEISMIC The use of the IBS construction system involves a significant reduction of the structural weights, with consequent reduction of the seismic stresses substantially linked to the forces of inertia and therefore the mass and weight. Prof. Ing. Franco Braga
ANTI-SEISMIC ANTI-SEISMIC With the IBS system from AUREA it is possible to obtain up to 30% savings in terms of weight of the constructed building. WEIGHT/m 2 AUREA SYSTEM CONCRETE 10 8 Structural elements 6.95 kn/m kn/m 2 6 Cladding kn/m TOTAL 6.95 kn/m kn/m 2 0 CLS AUREA Prof. Ing. Franco Braga
ANTI-SEISMIC Possibility of constructing buildings ANTI-SEISMIC with structural systems arranged along two orthogonal directions, capable of ensuring adequate strength and stiffness against seismic stresses, in any case direct. AXIS X WALLS AXIS Y WALLS Prof. Ing. Franco Braga
ANTI-SEISMIC ANTI-SEISMIC The IBS System by Aurea has been assigned a non-dissipative structural behaviour. This involves Limiting damage of seismic origin to: Structural elements Non-structural elements Installations Prof. Ing. Franco Braga
ENERGY SAVING Comfortable homes ENERGY SAVING A careful energy design makes it possible to construct Class A, A+ and Gold (Casa Clima) houses, where energy efficiency means: High living comfort High quality construction High real estate value of the building Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Stratigraphic analysis of the construction elements ENERGY SAVING The IBS building envelope plays an important role of a temperature regulator: the structural elements of which it is made make it possible to achieve optimum level of internal comfort and low energy requirements of the building, so as to provide for the use of thermal installations with low operating temperatures and electrical systems with low power consumption. Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Checking the thermal efficiency ENERGY SAVING For correct energy design of a building element it is necessary to evaluate the stratigraphy in order to determine the ideal thickness of the component materials in relation to different climate zones. For Climate zone E taken as an example, the thermal features of the outer walls and slabs were calculated for a residential building constructed using the IBS. Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Stratigraphy of outer walls IBS ENERGY SAVING Internal External 3 EXTERNAL WALL TYPE Plaster consisting of lime and gypsum (1.5 cm) 2 - Fibre-reinforced grout with electro-welded mesh (4 cm) 3 - High density EPS panels (22 cm) 4 - Fibre-reinforced grout with electro-welded mesh (4 cm) 5 - Plaster for exterior (2.5 cm) 1, ,5 Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Stratigraphy of outer walls IBS ENERGY SAVING Thermal transmittance U is U = 0.15W/(m 2 K) Transmittance (W/m 2 K): 0.15<0.34 (legal value) Surface mass (kg/m 2 ): Thermal resistance (m 2 K/W): 6.41 Total thickness 340 mm Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING IBS external slab stratigraphy ENERGY SAVING Internal External 20 1,5 EXTERNAL SLAB 1 - Internal flooring and adhesive (2 cm) 2 - Lean concrete layer (4 cm) 3 - Reinforced concrete screed C25/30 (5 cm) 4 - Electro-welded mesh ø 5 10x High density EPS panel (20 cm) 6 - Cement plaster reinforced with mesh (4 cm) 7 - Connectors ø 10/ Thermal insulation plaster for exterior (1,5 cm) Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Checking the hygrometric efficiency ENERGY SAVING In the design of the energy efficiency of a building with the IBS system, hygrometric tests are conducted on the opaque parts of the envelope, as required by Italian legislation, to avoid damage to the construction elements (walls, floor, roof) and especially in order to check the condition of the air inside the building (Indoor environment quality). Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Checking the hygrometric efficiency ENERGY SAVING For Climate Zone E and for a residential building the superficial and interstitial condensation phenomena of the type 1 wall of the IBS system were evaluated Glaser Diagram Partial pressure of the steam Steam saturation pressure Pa Psi Pri S1 S2 S3 S4 S5 Pse Pre Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Checking the hygrometric efficiency ENERGY SAVING No interstitial condensation was found inside the IBS outer wall and no surface condensation is generated since the dew point is never reached on the inner surfaces of the construction element (IBS outer wall). In terms of indoor environment quality, it was ascertained that conditions do not exist for the proliferation of fungal spores and the spread of mould. Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING IBS sustainability: Life cycle and embodied energy ENERGY SAVING The structural elements of the IBS system are constructed on site: IBS means environmental safety. A building constructed using the innovative IBS system is eco-sustainable not only because of the low CO 2 emissions in the atmosphere but also because of the low use of energy for the production, transport and disposal and recycling, if necessary, in case of demolition; careful analysis of the amount of embodied energy was therefore used throughout the building construction process. Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
ENERGY SAVING Environmental sustainability ENERGY SAVING Constructing a new building using the IBS system according to the principle of energy efficiency helps to avoid unnecessary emissions of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and makes it possible to avoid tapping into the ever dwindling supplies of fossil fuel sources (oil, natural gas, gas and coal). The design, construction and use of a building in IBS have the objective of obtaining an extremely low environmental impact taking into account also the maintainability cycles. Arch. Simonetta Ciaccia Energy Auditor and Consultant Casa Clima
SOUNDPROOFING SOUNDPROOFED The use in the IBS construction system of polystyrene, a material with remarkable thermal insulation and sound insulation properties means that the houses constructed using this system are in accordance with regulations: Framework law 447/95, D.C.P.M. 14/11/97 D.P.C.M. 5/12/97
SOUNDPROOFING SOUNDPROOFED
CONSTRUCTION SPEED The IBS system uses four materials for the construction of the structure: Fibre-reinforced structural mortar Electro-welded steel mesh C -shaped elements made of bent and galvanised sheet TIME SAVING High density polystyrene The ease of assembly of all the elements, the standardisation of the materials used and the simplicity of the IBS system make it possible to limit the construction times (A quarter of the time compared to the traditional system).
ANTI-CYCLONE ANTI-CYCLONE In the IBS building system, all the vertical and horizontal surfaces are connected to one another by means of electro-welded metallic mesh, inside and outside the building and a structural mortar, creating a continuous, elastic and monolithic structure. The resulting structure is like a shell, or even better a tree, which, through a mixed structure with a high level of elasticity, owes its resistance to the entire set of its elements.
ANTI-CYCLONE ANTI-CYCLONE The structure of the IBS system possesses a strong elasticity modulus also in the presence of extraordinary atmospheric events such as cyclones. Owing to its high dynamic compensation index, the structure is able to withstand hard knocks and the water hammer caused by stray bodies and scattered vectors.
FIREPROOF Maximum Safety FIREPROOF The load-bearing structure is self-protected with a fire-resistance REI 120. The materials used are all Class A and therefore self-extinguishing.
COST SAVING The IBS construction system is economical compared to the traditional system due to: Lower labour costs Low cost of materials used with better final quality No machines or fixed installations required, no heavy handling operations on site Reduction of insurance costs Lower safety costs Reduction of investments risks and financial exposure COST SAVING
