2 THE PRODUCT Lifestile is a premium brand of stone coated, steel roofing tiles manufactured by Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM) Ltd; your trusted name in innovative roofing solutions over the last 45 years. The brand is a delicately crafted fusion between the beauty and class of the tile profile together with the strength, lightness and life of Zincal coated steel. Manufactured in MRM s ISO9001 & certified conditions using patented Stone Shield stone-coating technology from the USA, Lifestile is especially targeted at the discerning top-end clients in housing and commercial developments. THE PROFILE Lifestile will be initially availed in a trusted and familiar tile profile which is covered in a rich basecoat into which selected fine-grain coloured stone granules are embedded. The cured panels are then finished off with 100% pure acrylic glazing to given the product luster, UV protection and superior weather-resistance, even in severe conditions. FEATURES & BENEFITS LIGHTWEIGHT: Approximately 1/6 the weight of traditional clay and concrete tiles means a massive saving in redundant carrying structure. ZINCAL BASE: Up to 4 times better life expectancy of this base over Galvanized options makes Lifestile a life-long, virtually maintenance free product INSTALLATION: Light weight hence much quicker to install than clay/ concrete tiles MAINTENANCE FREE: No need to replace broken tiles SECURITY: Fastened to structure hence better security than clay/concrete tiles TECHNOLOGY: Patented (USA) Stone Shield coating technology. Arguably the best of all stone-coated products in the region with the finest grain size, meaning less retention of dust and moisture which contribute to the growth of mould & fungi. This also means palatable water can be safely harvested off a Lifestile roof. 3 PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS MATERIAL SUBSTRATE Zincal coated steel MATERIAL THICKNESS 0.50mm TCT (Total coated thickness) Tolerance : ± 10% (other thicknesses available on request) PANEL SIZE, MASS & COVERAGE COLOURS 1000x1020mm (effective 900 x 925mm) with tile stepping every 300mm Coverage per panel = M² i.e. (1.20 panels/m² ) Mass per panel = approx 6.0 kg i.e. (7.2kg / M² ) Top: Spanish Red, Burgundy, Midnight Blue, Charcoal, Terracotta, Sherwood Green, Chestnut & Mahogany. Bottom: Acrylic glazing over the natural Zincal grain finish STRUCTURE Lifestile may be laid over timber or steel carrying structure suitably designed and detailed by qualified, competent persons. Recommended timber battens/ purlins:sizes are 50x50mm Spacing centres are 900mm

4 INSTALLATION DETAILS TILING PROCEDURE During laying, the panels must always be side-lapped in a Left-over-right configuration. Laps must face away from valleys or rain-water pipes discharging onto the roof and where possible, away from the prevalent line of sight. The tiling must be done from the bottom-up. RE-SIZING/CUTTING While a shear nibbler is highly recommended, an angle grinder may be used provided all burrs and swarf are cleaned up and the cut edges touched up. Tin snips may be used for cutting short lengths especially at hips, valleys & flashing detail. ROOF PITCH Minimum allowable pitch without the need for weatherproofing underlay is 12.5º. With an underlay pitches upto minimum 10º may be used. FIXING PROCEDURE Fasteners are driven through Lifestile crests (never troughs) on the weathering side on to the battens. The fastener heads may then be touched up with matching acrylic paint. MRM supplies CORROSHIELD self drilling fasteners for timber or steel structures.

5 FLASHINGS & ACCESSORIES Lifestile is supplied with matching flashings and accessories which may either be standard or customized to requirement. RIDGES A 380mm girth roll-top ridge is supplied for both roof crests and hip-ends. They are fitted through every 2 alternate tile panel crests. VALLEYS Lifestile is supplied with a standard valley flashing of the dimensions: Girth = 570mm Length = 2,000mm (effective 1,850mm) HEAD-WALL (ABUTMENT) & SIDE-WALL FLASHINGS The standard LIFESTILE head and side-wall flashings are of the dimentions: 387mm girth 2M length (effective 1.85M) BARGE BOARD FLASHING Lifestile is supplied with a standard barge board flashing as illustrated below. RECOMMENDATIONS HANDLING Lifestile products must be kept in well ventilated shelters while supported clear of the ground. CLEANING / TOUCHING UP The completed roof must be cleared off any debris and all cut edges/ fastener heads/ uncovered flashing details are to be touched up with acrylic paint in matching colour. Maintenance: Regularly check for problems before they become major corrosion sites Regularly wash down roof especially near coastal or industrial influences Remove leaves and other debris from gutters If a wall cladding, keep wall free of soil, concrete, and debris near the ground. Don t over-spray pesticides.
