Fittings and appurtenances for pipe shall be marked with either SDR 11 or Schedule 80 to indicate that they are made to SDR 11 or Schedule 80 dimensions, respectively. All fittings for pipe shall be marked with the letters IPS. Manifolds shall also include the nominal size of the inlet and outlet connections. Valves: The valves shall be indelible or permanently marked with the following: a) Manufacturer s name or trademark; b) Material designation code CPVC ; c) Standard designation. d) Intended service PW ; Valves designed for flow in one direction shall also include markings designating the flow direction. Solvent Cements: Printed labels or direct printing on the solvent cement container shall include at least the following: a) Manufacturer s name or the distributor; b) Trade name or logo of the solvent cement, if one exists; c) Code name of the solvent cement, if one exists; d) Description of the type of solvent cement Solvent cement for CPVC pressure systems ; e) Container size; f) Production date or date code; and

4 PMG-1156 Most Widely Accepted and Trusted Page 3 of 8 g) Instructions for the use of the solvent cement, including a recommended dissolving agent for cleaning tools, recommended procedure for use and the safety procedures normally required for solution containing solvents of that particular type. Installation: Models: IPEX AquaRise pipe, fittings, appurtenances, valves and solvent cements are certified as a system and must be installed as one. AquaRise CPVC Hot- and Cold- Potable Water Distribution Systems must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer s published installation instructions, the applicable codes and this listing. Where differences exist, the instructions in this listing must govern. Water Service: Buried piping must be installed in such a manner that external loads do not decrease the vertical dimension of the cross section by more than 5 percent. Piping must be installed to provide an allowance for contraction of the line due to temperature change prior to backfilling. In areas with poor soil conditions (plastic clays), the trench bottom must be prepared using granular material to provide a stable base. Potable water service piping must not be located in, under or above cesspools, septic tanks, septic tank drainage fields or pits. Water Distribution and Water Service Piping: Installed piping must be pressure-tested and inspected as required by IPC Section 606.6, IRC Section R or IAPMO UPC Section Horizontally laid pipe must be secured in such a way that temperature-induced expansion and contraction are accommodated. Pipe, Fittings, Appurtenances, and Valves: IPEX AquaRise pipe, fittings, appurtenances, and valves listed in table 1are manufactured from Chlorinated Poly (Vinyl Chloride) (CPVC) materials satisfying NSF 14 and 61. The pipe, fittings, appurtenances, and valves are available in nominally ½, ¾, 1, 1-¼ 1-½, 2, 2-½, 3, 4 and 6 inches (12-, 19-, 25-, 32-, 38-, 50-, 63-, 75-, 100 and 150- millimeter) outside-diameter sizes. All pipes are provided in 10 feet (3 meter) straight lengths. Pipe is produced in SDR11 dimensions with IPS (Iron Pipe Size) outside diameters. SDR, or Standard Dimension Ratio, means the wall thickness is directly proportional to the outside diameter. The pipe and fitting products are pressure-rated for a minimum of 100 psi (690 kpa) at 180 F (82 C) and for a minimum 400 psi (2758 kpa) at 73 F (23 C). Pipe, fittings, and valves must be joined by AquaRise One-Step Solvent Cement for ½ to 2 inches sizes, or AquaRise Two-Step Solvent Cement and Primer for 2-1/2 to 6 inches sizes. Flanged and threaded adapter fittings are available for joining to other materials.
