2 3 (1)Theme Advanced plant technology development on FBR For the commercialization of FBR, various innovative technologies are investigated to improve economy, reliability and safety of future plants using the experimental fast reactor Joyo, prototype FBR Monju and several test facilities. 1JAEA is conducting study and development on high-performance FBR core, fuel and materials, core and plant management, innovative FBR plant instrumentation and control, in-vessel remote inspection and diagnosis technologies through the operation, maintenance and tests using the experimental fast reactor Joyo and Monju. 2Also JAEA is studying on thermal-hydraulics, structural mechanics and materials for reactor coolant system and components.
