An adopted engineer is to be engaged in design, fabrication, assembly and technology development of tokamak components as listed below. The employee will engage in the technology development of the TF coil structures, including material development and its performance evaluation, development of machining and welding technologies and development of inspection technology. 2 3 (1)Theme Advanced plant technology development on FBR For the commercialization of FBR, various innovative technologies are investigated to improve economy, reliability and safety of future plants using the experimental fast reactor Joyo, prototype FBR Monju and several test facilities. 1JAEA is conducting study and development on high-performance FBR core, fuel and materials, core and plant management, innovative FBR plant instrumentation and control, in-vessel remote inspection and diagnosis technologies through the operation, maintenance and tests using the experimental fast reactor Joyo and Monju. 2Also JAEA is studying on thermal-hydraulics, structural mechanics and materials for reactor coolant system and components. For this purpose various tests on thermal-hydraulic, structural mechanics and materials behavior using several test facilities of engineering and fundamental scales are performed systematically. 3JAEA is studying advanced fuels and core components materials for FBR as the FaCT Project. For this purpose irradiation behavior of advanced fuels and materials irradiated in JOYO and MONJU are investigated using postirradiation examination apparatus. 3 4 (1)Theme Advanced FBR Fuel Reprocessing Technology Development The employee would be engaged in development on advanced recycle technology of FBR fuel cycle, for instance innovative reprocessing process and equipment. Results of the development would be reflected to commercialization of the FBR fuel cycle that is one of the JAEA's main activity. You can join the R&D on the technologies of plutonium-uranium mixed oxide(mox) fuel and fuel fabrication which are supplied to new type nuclear reactor such as Fast Breeder Reactor, that make effective utilization of plutonium as nuclear fuel possible. The works you can engage in are the fuel property study, automation technology development, plant maintenance technology development, waste management technology development, safeguards technology development, analytical technology development, and so on, for the practical application of MOX fuel technology, using many kinds of expertise. These activities are carried out in the Plutonium Fuel Development Center which is the only Japanese and world's leading worksite where the wide range of works from R&D to fuel fabrication are possible. 5 8 (1)Theme Decommissioning and related R&D on nuclear facilities JAEA owns many kinds of nuclear facilities for research and development on wide range from the study on basic technologies to the establishment of the nuclear fuel cycle technologies. Facilities accomplished their mission should be decommissioned rationally with ensuring the safety as a highest priority. Therefore, JAEA are developing the related technologies for the decommissioning, which are for dismantlement, decontamination, management and reuse/recycle of wastes from decommissioning, and radioactive inventory measurement in waste etc. Developed technologies are also demonstrated through the actual decommissioning of nuclear facilities in JAEA. 8 15 (1)Theme Operation and maintenance of Fast Critical Assembly (FCA) FCA is a research facility in which various experimental research activities have been conducted in the field of reactor physics for fast breeder reactor and future advanced reactor development. For technical support to those research activities, a new employee is expected to be engaged in operation and safety management of FCA as an expert engineer, and development of facility related techniques. The employee is also expected to obtain national licenses such as supervisors for nuclear reactor operation, and nuclear material and radio isotope handling.
