ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES Spill precautions Spill containment Spill clean-up Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment during clean up. (See Section 8) Dyke spill. Prevent liquid from entering the sewers, waterways, or low areas. Shovel or sweep up. DO NOT flush with water. Place material in a clean, dry container and cover for disposal. Wash contaminated areas with water and detergent. Prevent liquid from entering sewers, waterways or low areas. Soak up with sawdust, sand or other absorbent material. Shovel or sweep up. Never return to container for reuse. (See section 13 for disposal instructions.) 7. HANDLING AND STORAGE Handling Storage Avoid skin and eye contact. Avoid inhaling the vapour, or spray mist. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash clothing after use. Store in the closed, original container in a dry, well ventilated area, as cool as possible out of direct sunlight and under lock and key. Keep from contact with fertilisers, fungicides and seeds. Do not store with Classes 1, 2, 3.2, 4 or 5 substances. Stores containing more than 100 kg of this product, either alone or in aggregate with other hazardous substances are subject to requirement of an emergency management response plan, secondary containment and signage. 8. Decomposition will not occur Polymerisation will not occur. 11. TOXICOLIGICAL INFORMATION Acute Effects Eye Causes mild irritation, normal within 1 day. Eyes were normal within 4 days. Skin Only slight to moderate toxicity. Inhalation Low toxicity. Swallowed Low level of toxicity. Chronic Effects No oncogenic effects observed in the 18-month mouse, 2-year rat or 1- year dog feeding studies. Lower body weight gains were observed for rats fed in the higher dietary concentrations, 250 and 1250 ppm. The NOEL for mice was 200 ppm based on lower body weights for mice in the high dose group (1500 ppm). Slightly lower dog body weights and increased serum creatinine concentrations were observed in the 1500 ppm dietary dose level, NOEL was 250 ppm. The active ingredient did not produce birth defects after administering via oral intubation to pregnant rats 0, 20, 1250 or 500 mg/kg/day and rabbits (0, 5, 20, 80 mg/kg/day). Not mutagenic in the Ames bacterial assay; in vitro cytogenetics test with Chinese Hamster ovary cells; in vivo cytogenetics test using bone marrow cells from rats treated at 0, 50, 500 or 5,000 mg/kg body weight. None of the components in this material is listed by IARC, NTP, OSHA or ACGIH as a carcinogen.
