3 EU Climate and Energy package The climate and energy package is a set of binding legislation which aims to ensure the European Union meets its ambitious climate and energy targets for A 20% reduction in EU greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels; including 30% option Raising the share of EU energy consumption produced from renewable resources to 20% A 20% improvement in the EU's energy efficiency. Measures Reform of the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) National targets for sectors not covered by EU ETS, including monitoring mechanism National renewable energy targets Carbon capture and storage Energy efficiency The climate and energy package does not address the energy efficiency target directly. This is being done through the 2011 Energy Efficiency Plan and the Energy Efficiency Directive.

11 Life Cycle Assessment Nokia Lumia 820 Greenhouse gas emissions: 16 kg CO2-eq. These figures represent the estimated environmental impact of this device over a product life cycle including 3 years of usage. This impact is equal to driving 96 km in a typical family car. In accordance with ISO and ISO Calculations take into account the raw materials acquisition, component manufacturing, Nokia s own factory processes, inbound & outbound logistics, usage (3 years and recycling of the mobile devices. Source data is measured at Nokia factories and operations and collected from suppliers. In addition LCI databases are used. Life cycle assessment method has been externally audited. Environmental impacts of different accessories, packaging, user guides, and Nokia corporate overhead including travel are not included.
