4 SECTION 1 ONEFLOW SCALE CONTROL SYSTEMS Calcium scale in pipes and plumbing equipment often increases energy costs and can lead to expensive repairs to appliances such as hot water heaters, ice machines, coffee makers, and dishwashers. 5 ONEFLOW SCALE CONTROL SYSTEMS SECTION 1 WATER CONDITIONING OneFlow Anti Scale System The OneFlow Anti-Scale System provides protection from scale formation on internal and external plumbing surfaces. The OneFlow system is a single cartridge/media-based system that may be installed on a cold water line prior to a water-using device (water heater, hot-beverage system, appliance, steamer, etc.) that requires protection from the ill effects of hard water. OneFlow prevents scale by transforming dissolved hardness minerals into harmless, inactive microscopic crystal particles. These crystals stay suspended in the water and are passed to a drain, thereby having a greatly reduced ability to react negatively with plumbing surfaces, as opposed to dissolved hardness minerals. This environmentally-friendly solution eliminates sodium discharge by using Template Assisted Crystallization (TAC) technology to transform dissolved hardness minerals into harmless, inactive microscopic crystal particles. These particles make their way through plumbing systems without latching on to pipes, inside fixtures, valves, or heating elements. The system requires very little maintenance, no backwashing, no salt and no electricity. Typical hardness problems, especially build-up of scale in pipes, water heaters, boilers and on fixtures are no longer a concern. OneFlow is not a water softener. It does not add chemicals. It is a scale prevention device with proven third party laboratory test data and years of successful Food Service and Commercial applications. And because all wetted surfaces are non-metallic, they are ideal when chemical compatibility is an issue and for sea water applications. The Watts SmartKey UV lamps maximizes performance levels while the Auto-Dimming feature reduces energy consumption by up to 46% The quartz sleeves use high-quality hard glass which allows high transmission levels of UV light. SMARTSTREAM DISINFECTANT SYSTEMS Watts SmartStream A Series UV Systems The new Watts SmartStream A Series UV systems are an improved version of the Watts UV (WUV) line we previously offered. Replacement lamps, quartz sleeves, sleeve oring, and controllers are all interchangeable between the WUV and the A Series. The new upgrades include a two piece quartz sleeve nut with grounding screw, a lamp power wire strain relief in the quartz sleeve nut and a reconfigured inlet and outlet port arrangement. SmartStream A Series Controller SmartStream A series UV Controllers are designed with simplicity in mind. Input power between VAC 50/60 Hz is converted to the correct voltage required by the lamp for the production of UV light. During normal operation, the LED indicator will be illuminated green. If the lamp burns out then an audible alarm will sound and the Green/Red LED Indicator will change from Green to Red. This informs the user that the system requires servicing. 14 ULTRAVIOLET - UV SMARTSTREAM DISINFECTANT SYSTEMS Watts SmartStream B & C Series UV Systems The Watts SmartStream B & C Series of UV systems incorporate revolutionary new concepts into a time tested disinfection method. All B & C series systems come standard with wireless radio frequency SmartKey technology, so that the UV lamps are properly identified. This feature prevents low pressure B series lamps from being used in the C series systems, which use low pressure high output lamps. By properly identifying the lamp, the controller will initiate the proper start up sequence for that specific lamp. The hours of operation are also logged directly to the lamp chip, so a lamp past its life span cannot be accidentally put back into service. All B & C series systems also come standard with automatic lamp dimming. During periods of no flow the controller automatically powers the lamp down to 50% intensity. This feature prevents the generation of hot water by the system during periods of no flow and reduces power consumption by up to 46%. It contains an active insoluble catalyst to precipitate iron and/or manganese. Because the presence of iron is most common, iron removal is the usual application for Birm. Under suitable conditions, the iron and dissolved oxygen in water react on contact with the Birm filter bed and, as a result, the iron is precipitated in the form of hydroxide. This is a flocculent material which is filtered out in the bed of Birm. Periodic backwashing flushes out the accumulated iron and the Birm is again ready to perform its function.
