These positions are seasonal positions with work hours determined weekly by participant registration, weather, employee experience & performance. Upon receipt of a completed application, applicants with the most experience, qualifications and availability will be contacted for an interview. Mandatory staff training days will be held in early June. For full consideration, summer camp position applications are due on the below dates. CAMP APPLICATIONS DUE: Returning Staff: Monday 2/24 New Staff: Monday 3/10 Mandatory Staff Training Dates: June 7, 8, &14 Camp Weeks: 6/16/14-8/29/14, 11 weeks Certifications Required: CPR (preferably infant/child), First Aid; Medication Administration (Director and Asst. Director Only) CAMP DIRECTOR Age Requirement: 20 & Over Job Description: This position is accountable to the Recreation Coordinator and Camp Coordinator and is the liaison between center management, park staff, and camp staff. They are responsible for the overall running, management, and supervision of the day camp program. Directors train & supervise counselors & junior leaders, interact with staff, respond professionally to parents questions & complaints, are the primary contact with parents during morning check-in and throughout the day, work within budget, prepare weekly activity & staffing schedules, maintain paperwork, enforce camp rules & policies, lead weekly staff meetings, motivate staff, perform staff evaluations, and lead by example. Specialty Areas: Preschool, Preschool Nature, General Youth Day Camp, Sports & Skateboarding. Pay Range: $11 - $13/hr CAMP ASSISTANT DIRECTOR Age Requirement: 18 & Over Job Description: The Assistant director works directly with the camp director & is a liaison between the director & counselors. They are responsible for the on-site daily flow of camp, ensuring the schedule is being followed, adapting to the unexpected, is a resource to staff for activities & problem solving, plans weekly theme-based activities, motivates staff & campers, afternoon parent contact for check-out, and redirects staff & campers when necessary. Specialty Areas: Preschool, General Day Camp & Sports. Pay Range: $11-13/hr DAY CAMP COUNSELOR Age Requirement: 15 & Over Job Description: Camp Counselors are responsible for planning, leading, supervising, & cleaning up for a variety of theme-based sports, games, crafts, cooking, science, and nature activities. Counselors participate, energize, interact, and supervise campers in all activities including swimming, field trips, and lunch to ensure participation, safety & fun! Specialty Areas: Preschool, Preschool Nature, General Youth Day Camp, Sports, Skateboarding & Before/After Care. Pay Range: $ /hr INCLUSION ASSISTANT Age Requirement: 20 & Over Job Description: Inclusion Assistants provide one on one support to campers with physical, developmental, and/or emotional disabilities as they integrate into daily camp life. Inclusion Assistants make adaptations to activities and crafts in order to ensure the camper s successful participation. They are responsible for communicating with parents, counselors, and other staff regarding the needs of the participant. Inclusion Assistants may need to assist children under the age of 12 with toileting, changing, and/or swimming. They are assigned to individual campers each week and not to any one camp or program. Camps may include sports, games, crafts, cooking, science, nature, fieldtrips, and swimming depending on the participant age (3-12yrs) and abilities. Pay Range: $9.25 $11.25/hr BEFORE CARE /AFTER CARE LEAD Age Requirement: 18 & Over Job Description: This position is responsible for the Before Care or After Care Program that serves all SWCC Day Camps. Lead staff supervises counselors & junior leaders; interact with staff; respond professionally to parent s questions & complaints & are the primary contact with parents during parent check-in/check-out; plan activities; and lead by example. Supplemental questions required with application. Resumes are encouraged. All Camp Staff must be available for the entire season from June 16th through August 29th. Mandatory staff training days are June 8, 9, 15 &17. Applicants must also be available for an in-person interview between March 24th and May 4th and pass a Criminal Background Check to be eligible for hire.
