4 Power on your N9330B for the first time Easy two steps: 1. Install the battery 2. Press the power switch to power on the tester Tip: Fully charge the battery when you use it for the first time. Charge the battery with the AC-DC adapter only when it is installed in the tester. 5 Four easy steps of making a measurement 1 Select a measurement mode. 2 Set a measurement range (or select a frequency range from the list of signal standard). 3 Calibrate the tester. 4 Connect the DUT (Device Under Test) to the RF OUT connector. About Calibration Before making a measurement (SWR/Return loss/cable loss/dtf) in a specified frequency span or full span, you must calibrate your N9330B. Press [SYS] > {Cal Mode} to select a calibration mode: FullSpan Cal Runs an open- short- load calibration across the full frequency span (25 MHz to 4 GHz). A FullSpan Cal ignores the frequency changes during measurements, but it has lower calibration accuracy than that of SelectedSpan Cal mode. SelectedSpan Cal Performs an open- short- load calibration across a user- defined frequency span. A SelectedSpan Cal requires you to re- calibrate the tester, after changing the frequency range. Usually, a selected span should be set as close to the actual swept frequency range. Learn more about calibration from N9330B User s Guide. 3
