3 The purposes of the paper are to familiarize you with APA testing standards and provide practice in evaluation of tests according to these standards. Since the tests to be reviewed are commonly used in clinical practice, the distribution of these papers to the class will provide each of you with information on those tests. Choose one of the tests listed on the next page. Each student will choose a different instrument. Examine a copy of the test and its manual. Look up reviews of the test in Buros Mental Measurements Yearbook, Personality Tests and Reviews, or the Test Critiques Compendium, or other review sources. For multiply reviewed tests, limit yourself to the three most recent reviews. You are to evaluate the test according to the criteria that are marked as "primary" in Part 1 of the APA standards. The paper is due on Monday, July 10 th. I will Xerox the papers and distribute them to students who want a copy of a specific test review. The paper is worth 30% of the final grade and is in lieu of a mid-term exam. Papers should be in APA format, Fifth Edition. Tests The following tests are examples of frequently used objective personality assessment measures. Please select one of the tests below for the purposes of your paper. 1. MMPI/MMPI-2/MMPI-A. 2. Strong Campbell Interest Inventory (Strong Vocational Interest Blank in survey). 3. Symptom Checklist Revised (SCL-90-R). 4. Personality Inventory for Children (PIC). 5.
