8 What is a 360 Assessment? The 360 Assessment is an anonymous assessment of your effectiveness, competencies, and capabilities. Responses from your direct leader, peers and direct reports will provide a benchmark for personal and professional growth.

10 What is a Career Development Plan (CDP)? Once the 360 Assessment is complete, employees should sit down with their direct leader and go through the CareerDevelopment Plan (CDP). The 360 Assessment feedback will provide valuable information to help them build an effective CDP. The CDP is a roadmap for their performance and growth. Specific goals and measurements will help them to focus their

11 What is the objective of a CDP? A CDP is a tool to help individuals identify, focus on, and drive their personal career/development goals, with the guidance of their direct and indirect leaders. It helps each person create a blueprint for their continuous development.

12 CDP Responsibilities Individual Each person is responsible to drive their own development, from self-assessment to goal setting to achievement. The individual has the primary responsibility to own and drive their career/development, even as they seek guidance from their leader. Leader The leader s role is to provide guidance to each individual team member along the path of their career/development planning and achievement. This may require the leader to reign in their own passion and push back on the individual when either one begins to blur the line between employee driven and leader guided.

16 360 Assessments and CDP Considerations Create an environment where it is safe to talk about their career Ensure employees are always on a plan and not just when their performance is poor make a plan a good thing Help employees focus on their strengths Many people change their major in school a number of times create an environment where it s okay to move up, sideways, etc. It s not just a ladder, but a lattice. Conduct regular stay interviews
