3 SFO LOCAL AGREEMENT hour work maximum In an effort to help insure safety, all employees are restricted to working a maximum of 16 hours in a work day. Scheduled lunches are not counted as part of the 16 hour rule. There may be some circumstances (i.e. OSO, extreme manpower shortage) where a manager will need to authorize an employee to work beyond 16 hours. It is the employee s responsibility to notify management, if asked to extend their shift, that doing so will place them over the 16 hour limit. Failure to comply with these guidelines will be considered a performance issue, and can lead to corrective action under AA PPC guidelines. 1
