2 Walmart s Time Away from Work Programs We understand how important your time off is to you. This guide is designed to give you an overview of Time Away from Work programs while highlighting what s new for 2018.* Programs for when you need to be away: FlexPTO Including Holidays MATERNITY / PARENTAL PAY DISABILITY Short-term disability coverage Long-term disability coverage Let s review each one of these programs in more detail and review the transition to Walmart s FlexPTO. *Specific policies and rules apply in some states and cities. 2

3 Your FlexPTO. FlexPTO gives you control over your time along with flexibility in how you use it. Plan ahead for vacations or family events, knowing you have support when you need to be out sick. Beginning Feb. 1, 2018 How FlexPTO works: No minimums, maximums or set balance to use Covers incidental absence for illness or injury (for yourself or family members) Coordinates with Leave of Absence (LOA) You have the flexibility to take as much time off as needed, as long as: It s approved by your manager It doesn t affect your performance or that of your team Use your FlexPTO for: VACATIONS FAMILY TIME SICK BIRTHDAYS HOLIDAYS 3

4 FlexPTO and Holidays. Use your FlexPTO to get paid for Walmart ecommerce recognized holidays or any additional holidays most meaningful to you. Beginning Feb. 19, 2018 PRESIDENTS DAY MEMORIAL DAY INDEPENDENCE DAY LABOR DAY THANKSGIVING DAY CHRISTMAS DAY NEW YEAR S DAY 4

5 What if I ve planned a big vacation for March 2018? George and his family are planning a big spring break vacation next year. He wants to know how his FlexPTO works. George talks to his manager about his plans for taking time off in March. They agree on how to support George s team while he is out and George receives approval for the time off. George will use FlexPTO for the working days he is gone. I m taking care of an aging parent? Julie has cared for her father for many years on the weekends. With his recent failing health, she needs some time away from work to care for her father. After talking to her manager about the situation, Julie calls Sedgwick to request a leave and uses Parental and Family Care Pay to be paid while she takes care of her father. After receiving approval for her leave and taking two weeks off to care for her father, Julie returns to work. During her time off, Julie also contacts Resources for Living to find resources on nursing homes in her area. KEY TIME AWAY FROM WORK HIGHLIGHTS FlexPTO is a time off program giving you flexibility to taking time away from work as long as your manager approves it and it doesn t adversely impact your team You can use FlexPTO for any reason if you are sick, take a vacation, attend a school event, or for anything else that you may want For expectant mothers: you ll receive up to 22 weeks of 100 percent paid time away. Twenty-two weeks is available by combining short-term disability with parental pay. FlexPTO is not a substitute for taking a leave of absence For more information about these and other plan details, visit WalmartOne.com/eCommTimeOff These are examples only. 6 Maternity / parental pay and family care. Maternity provision As part of short-term disability coverage, birth mothers will receive nine weeks paid at 100 percent for maternity leave. Here is an example of how it works: Beginning Jan. 1, 2018 Carla is pregnant and having a baby in Feb She wants to take as much paid time off as possible to spend with her new growing family. After filing a claim with Sedgwick for a maternity leave, Carla uses five days of FlexPTO to get paid during her short-term disability waiting period. DAY 1 FlexPTO used 100% PAID 100% PAID 22 WEEKS TOTAL WAITING PERIOD* (7 calendar days) SHORT-TERM DISABILITY, NINE WEEKS TWELVE WEEKS DISABILITY and LEAVE OF ABSENCE PARENTAL PAY and LEAVE OF ABSENCE *FlexPTO covers the normal scheduled days during the waiting period. Parental pay taking time off when adding to your family Parental pay is designed for paid time off for moms and dads due to birth, adoption or a foster-care event. Here s how it works: Up to 12 weeks of pay at 100 percent per rolling 12-month period Available in one-week increments and must be used within first year of birth, adoption or a foster-care event For birth moms, parental pay can begin after short-term disability for a total of 22 weeks paid leave benefit 6

7 Disability coverage: support when you need it most. Beginning Jan. 1, 2018 Short-term disability: (at no cost to you) Seven calendar day waiting period Up to six weeks at 100% paid Up to an additional 19 weeks paid at 75% Long-term disability plan: (associate paid) If you are unable to work due to your own medical condition beyond the 26 weeks of short-term disability and you ve enrolled in Walmart s LTD coverage, then you ll receive additional income replacement benefits. 8 Tips on taking a leave of absence. Life happens. We understand associates may need to take a leave of absence. Here are a few tips. FILING A LEAVE CLAIM To take a leave, you ll file a claim with Walmart s leave administrator, Sedgwick, by: Online: viaone express By phone: Interested in learning more? Ask ALEX at WalmartOne.com/eCommKnowPTO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH YOUR MANAGER Communication is key to supporting you and your team during your leave. KNOW YOUR BENEFITS Work with your People Partner to learn more about your Walmart benefits while you re on leave. Attend an educational session on Walmart s Time Away from Work programs to learn more. These sessions are also available on demand by going to WalmartOne.com/eCommTimeOff 8

9 Other questions that may be on your mind. ABOUT YOUR FlexPTO, FAMILY CARE and PARENTAL PAY How much FlexPTO will I have? FlexPTO does not have minimums or maximums allowing you to take the time away from work you need. Some limitations apply if on a Leave of Absence. What is the plan year? The FlexPTO program runs on a special plan year, not the calendar year. The first plan year begins Feb. 1, 2018 and ends Jan. 31, I just need a couple of hours off. Can I use FlexPTO for less than a day? FlexPTO may be requested in increments of one half or one full day. When you are off work less than one half day, you ll need to let your manager know your need to be away from work for part of the workday, but you will not need to use FlexPTO. What if I need time off to care for a family member? We understand there may be times when associates need time off to care for a family member. The Parental and Family Care Policy allows for two weeks of paid leave while on an approved leave to care for a family member. Working with Sedgwick s specialists will help you make the most of your leave options. How do I request and record usage of FlexPTO? You ll want to discuss your time off needs with your manager, then use the designated time off management system for your work location to record the FlexPTO you use. Can I use FlexPTO time while I m on short-term disability? You are not able to request FlexPTO while you are collecting short-term disability benefits. Some city and state variations may apply. You cannot use FlexPTO for additional income replacement once short-term disability or Parental and Family Care Pay exhausts. 9
