11 Intelligent Machine Control There are three main Machine Control Functions Auto Stop Control During boom or bucket operation, the work equipment automatically stops when the bucket edge reaches the design surface, preventing damage to the design surface. Bucket edge positioning is also made easy. Auto Grade Assist When the operator moves the arm, the boom adjusts the bucket height automatically, tracing the target surface and minimizing digging too deep. (A) The working range is expanded by holding down the boom lever while pulling in the arm. (B) (A) Minimum Distance Control The intelligent Machine Control Excavator controls the bucket by automatically selecting the point on the bucket closest to the target surface. Should the machine not be facing a sloped surface at a right angle, it will still protect the target surface. 22 The BW213 presented a new challenge On and off tracking is achieved using a similar method to that for dozers; A prepared access point will be required with matting or ballast used to level the area around the rail head. The roller will be manoeuvred to be in line with the rails to allow the front rail axle to be deployed. The Roller can then be moved as necessary to complete deployment of the rear rail axle because traction and steering are still available.
