METTLER TOLEDO product inspection equipment allows ARTIC FRISA to not only comply with legal regulations but also ensures quality and consistency for its customers. ARTIC FRISA began as a family business in 1950 and now employs more than 250 people. A critical aspect of the production process is the consistent texture which is achieved by measuring the volume and weight of ice cream samples, through immerging it in water then weighing it on METTLER TOLEDO s static scales. Close monitoring allows adjustment where necessary in order to adhere to the recipe and ensure high product quality. Once the ice creams are produced they are individually checked using a METTLER TOLEDO Safeline metal detector, to reject any metal contamination, ensuring both customer safety and regulatory compliance. A final quality check is conducted using a METTLER TOLEDO checkweigher which ensures the correct number of products per box. Quality assured Each box is then assigned a code indicating: batch number, validation date and manufacturing time. This is automatically recorded to assist in product traceability, explains Els Hellyn, Quality Assurance Manager, in the eventuality of contamination, the error can be traced and the problem immediately rectified. With quality and quantity assured, these coded boxes are then stored in deep freezers at 27 C until distribution.
