2 Overview / Alerts Overview Lettuce, romaine and leaf items are steady and quality is good. Limes are EXTREME right now, but will soon be in an ACT OF GOD. Strawberry and raspberry supplies are good with favorable, steady prices and quality. 3 TRANSPORTATION / WEATHER Transportation Rates, although higher than expected, have eased as overall demand is slow. However, we do expect to see rates begin to increase as we approach the summer months as there is still an overall shortage of drivers. ELD s will be creating longer transit times which as demand increases will force rates to firm. Weather SOUTHEAST: The forecast calls for very warm temperaturesthrough next week with a mix of clouds and sun. HERMOSILLO: Cooler temps are in the forecast as a cold front pushes through the west and could potentially lower harvest production over the next few days. 4 Fruits Apples The market is lower as availability has increased, and quality and supplies are good. Most varieties are heavy to smaller sizes and lower grades Avocado - The market is steady. The outlook for the next six months looks good, Mexico started with light volume and is expecting a larger crop this year over last. Greenskin are tightening and the market is on the rise through transition Banana - arkets have escalated from a mix of cold weather, flooding, and political turmoil in the various growing regions. The market is expected to remain active for the next 2 3 weeks with low availability. Blackberries - The market is rising, quality is good, and supply is limited Blueberries - Supplies are mostly South American; expect occasional break down and desiccation

5 Fruits Grapes - Supplies continue to arrive from South America with varied sizing between lots. Look for split fruit, ambers, and mold typically associated from long transit. Lemons - Very active market, prices are very high. Quality is good. Limes - Market is extremely active and supplies are limited. The effects of the weather; heavy rain, wind, and colder temps affected the bloom. Producing mostly 110 s and 150 s, with small sizes limited. Also seeing some skin and stylar-end break down This situation is expected to have lasting effects on the supply. Mangoes - Good supply and good availability

6 Fruits Melons Cantaloupe Production remains favorable; however, 12 s and 15 s are becoming scarce and drawing a premium. Larger-sized fruit is where the volume will be over the next few weeks. Melon Honeydew - market has remained very steady as we transition from Guatemala to Honduras. We anticipate the market to remain steady over the next 7-10 days. Quality of the fruit has been clean and sizing has been primarily 5/6s Oranges - Although we have seen improvement, we are still seeing a shortage in supply as well as much higher prices. Pears - Bosc, Bartlett and D Anjou are available out of Yakima and Wenatchee Districts.

7 Fruits Pineapple - Demand remains firm; quality is going to be inconsistent and supplies could be interrupted as major weather issues have impacted the growing regions in Guatemala, Mexico and Costa Rica. Raspberries - Volume has improved and quality is good. Strawberries - The market is good, we are seeing steady prices and quality is good to fair. Watermelon - Seedless watermelon supplies are continuing to improve. Quality is very good.

8 Vegetable Asparagus Supplies, quality, and prices are looking good. Broccoli - Supplies are getting tighter due to the colder weather. Cauliflower - Supplies are good, though we are seeing this market tighten up due to the recent colder weather Carrots - We are seeing both good quality and volume. Corn - FL corn supplies have improved from the Homestead and Lake Okeechobee growing areas. Good quality is being reported with good barrel size and fully developed tips, more corn is grading out Fancy. Celery - This market is steady, both quality and price are good.

9 Vegetable Cucumber - Good supplies continue to arrive from Honduras with good quality and color, minimal scarring and misshapen cucumbers are being reported. FL still 3 4 weeks away. Eggplant - Good supplies from the East. Garlic - We are about 50% done with the 2017 crop. Supplies will remain tight between now and July. Prices remain high. Ginger - Chinese ginger markets are mixed, but quality is good. Green Cabbage - Supplies have tightened and markets have firmed in the East. We are seeing improving volume and lower FOB prices in the West, and quality remains favorable.

10 Vegetable Green Onion - Prices have come down; quality has improved. Kale - Quality is improving. Supplies are good. Lettuce Iceberg - Quality is nice and the market is steady. Production is lighter due to the colder weather. Leaf Green and Red- Quality is good. Prices are good. Leaf Romaine - Quality and supplies are good. Weather has been an issue, and we are seeing prices rise slightly Leaf Romaine Hearts - Supplies are normal and quality is good

11 Vegetable Onions - The market is steady with good supplies. Quality is good on all colors. Pepper, Bell - West: Mexican green bell quality is good; shade house and open field colored peppers are available with fair to good quality. East: Supplies and quality are improving from FL with the warmer temps. Potato - An increase of supplies on the market is due to poor demand, driving prices downward. Quality remains good. Spinach - Supplies are available and quality is fair due to the recent colder weather. Squash - Volume continues to be very good on both colors from FL; we are seeing better quality in zucchini over yellow squash.

12 Vegetable Tomato Rounds: Quality is excellent out of South Florida. FOB prices are unchanged this week. We are seeing some quality issues resulting from last month s freeze, and we expect this to occasionally continue over the next 3 to 4 weeks. Romas: Quality is excellent out of South Florida. FOB prices are up slightly due to normal crop transitions; however, quality is outstanding. Grapes and Cherries: Quality and production are excellent out of South Florida. FOB prices are unchanged and quality is outstanding
