1 K-2-1 AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANUAL AIRFIELD OPERATIONS 31 January 2011 PART K SECTION 2 TRAINING STRATEGY 1. for Ground Handling s 1.1 The aircraft ground handling are primarily responsible for the training of their own al staff. 2 K-2-2 AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANUAL AIRFIELD OPERATIONS 31 January Continuation training The train-the-trainer scheme will establish an effective basis for continuation training in the form of refresher courses for qualified al staff, as well as for formulation of induction training for operator recruits Performance standards The day-to-day of aircraft ground handling equipment is supervised the AD duty officer, including spot checks on equipment operator on a regular basis to monitor performance standards. 3 K for Driving 2.1 It is envisaged that the majority of airside drivers who will normally engage in ramp services and airline activities, will operate within the Passenger, Cargo and Maintenance Apron areas. In addition to possession of a valid Hong Kong Driving License,, airlines and other ramp operators driving at the airside will need to undergo drivers training on the airfield safety requirements aided with a training video and the Driving Handbook available from AD. 2.2 drivers who operate on the runway and taxiway zone require further training in safety procedures and radio telephony technique. 2.3 Procedures for application, examination and certification of airside drivers are described in Part G of this Manual and the Driving Handbook. 3. for line and HKBAC for aircraft towing crew 3.1 The line and HKBAC are responsible for the training of the aircraft towing crew on runway familiarization and the radio technique to enable them to follow the procedures stated in Section 4 Para.6 of Part D and Section 3 Para.2 of Part G of this Manual and communicates with the Air Traffic Control. 3.2 On completion of the training, the towing crew is examined and certified AD.
