During handling, non-hazardous dust may be created which may irritate unprotected eyes. 4. FIRST AID MEASURES Same as in ordinary dust: Remove to fresh air. Drink water to clear throat and blow nose. Flush eyes with water.

ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASUREMENT 6.1 PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS Use approved respirators against ordinary dust. Goggles are recommended. 6.2 ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS None. Bauxite has no negative ecological effects. It is an environmentally friendly material. 6.3 SPILL & LEAK PRECAUTIONS Pick up or clear away with water. Use a dust suppressant when sweeping. 7. HANDLING & STORAGE No particular hazards involved during handling and storage. However avoid creating dust. 8. EXPOSURE CONTROLS & PERSONAL PROTECTION 8.1 GENERAL PREVENTION Avoid creating dust. In case of dust evolution, avoid prolonged inhalation; if required use dust respirator and goggles. 8.2 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT If excessive dust is generated the following equipment should be used: Respiratory Protection Use normal dust-mask for protection against ordinary dust. Eye Protection Normal goggles are recommended for workers in close proximity to Bauxite dust, to avoid accidental contact with excessive amounts of dust.
