THE PALESTINIAN TERRITORIES The term green line is used to refer to the 1949 armistice line established between Israel and its neighboring countries (Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria) after the 1948 Arab-Israeli war. Since the 1993 Declaration of Principles, which resulted from the Oslo peace process, there have been several handovers of land to differing degrees of Palestinian civil and security control. NEXT STEPS Continue promoting the innovative approach within the PA-line ministries, UN agencies, local and international NGOs, CBOs, schools and youth associations Advocate for a clear, strategic and implementable youth employment policy Revision of educational curriculum and inclusion of agricultural skills in the schools nationwide Widen the approach to all Palestinian youths in refugee camps in collaboration with the United Nations Agency for Relief and Works for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) Consolidate existing links between rural youth and farmers cooperatives and rural finance institutions Shift of ownership from co-owned FAO/Government to fully Governmental
