1 Tiles and Adhesive Waterproofing Membrane ProFinish TM Tile Tray Important: Tray must be protected from moisture by an approved waterproofing membrane applied by an approved waterproofing applicator. The ProFinish TM Tile Tray is installed after the wall lining is fixed and must be waterproofed before tiling. The waterproofing is to be applied after the tray is installed so the area is protected by one continuous waterproofing membrane applied to the floor, over the shower base and up the walls. ProFinish TM Tile Tray must be installed on a clean, flat, even surface. Tile thickness will affect overall height and depth of shower. Supplied with glue pack to fix ProFinish TM Tile Tray. NB: Warranty void if recommended glue and sealant not used. Refer page 48. All dimensions from lined wall to outer edges of ProFinish TM Tile Tray are nominal. Newline shower sizing is based on actual tray size. Matching door set is nominally 30mm smaller. Please confirm door size. Measurements of door glass are taken from tile to edge of glass. All measurements are nominal. Tapware, tiles, waterproofing, finishing and accessories not included. Tile waste not included with tray unless ordering the Channel Drain system.

2 The Newline ProFinish TM Tile Tray System The ProFinish TM Tile Tray System is a New Zealand designed and manufactured innovation that simply replaces the need for a traditional screed and cement sloped base. The ProFinish TM Tile Tray System offers unrivalled flexibility, as trays can be custom manufactured to suit individual requirements. It is easy to install, suitable for above floor or recessed application, and can be manufactured to accommodate virtually any waste position. Once your wall lining has been installed, the tray is simply glued to the floor and covered by one continuous waterproofing membrane over the floor, tray and up the walls. Then the whole enclosure is ready for your tiles to be applied. Made in New Zealand. Simply glues to the floor. The ProFinish TM Tile Tray will hold its shape and form for 20 years if protected from moisture by an approved waterproofing membrane applied by an approved waterproofing applicator (refer page 48). Can be installed on solid timber, particle board or concrete floors, or a slate/tile underlay. Offers flexibility with the size, shape and waste position and so removes the need for expensive structural floor changes. Suits channel drain or standard tile waste. Material Properties and Testing Manufactured of lightweight rigid polyurethane. Compression strength: 229kg to create 1mm of deflection 2193kg to create 2mm deflection. Cyclic testing: cycles (4 showers a day for 25 years) were carried out to simulate the use of the tray as a waterproofing substrate in a shower and no visual failures were observed to the applied waterproof membrane. Elongation to tensile failure > 3mm.

3 For Use With Standard Tile Waste In addition to standard trays, Newline can manufacture a custom tray to suit specific requirements. The standard waste position is in the centre of the tray; however, the waste position can easily be moved within a 75mm radius of centre without any extra cost. Once your wall lining has been installed, the tray is simply glued to the floor, covered by one continuous waterproofing membrane (applied by an approved waterproofing applicator) over the floor, tray and up the walls. Then the whole enclosure is ready for your tiles to be applied. With 60mm x 60mm Hob ProFinish TM Tile Trays come standard with a 60mm x 60mm hob. The waste is not included but can be purchased from your merchant to fit the tray. WASTE ING HOB Recessed Application Recessed application requires different tray dimensions from a hob tray and can be custom made by Newline (unless ordering a standard Acclaim Tile Shower with Recessed Tray). Please note: With 3 Sided showers it is important to measure for the glass door or glass panels after the tray has been fully installed and the tile thickness confirmed, so that the glass door and panels are made to fit your shower. Newline can provide a customised waste position within our standard sized trays, or we can manufacture a completely customised tray to meet a specific size and plumbing location in the home. The waste can be moved to any position as long as it is not less than 250mm from the outside edge of the tray. 4 ProFinish WEDGE TILE TRAY AND CHANNEL DRAIN KIT For Use With Channel Drain The ProFinish TM Wedge Tile Tray is supplied with a Newline Channel Drain Kit, and is manufactured with the slope necessary to house the channel drain. The constant slope to drain also allows for larger sized tiles. In addition to our standard ProFinish TM Wedge Tile Trays, Newline can manufacture a custom tray to suit your needs. All ProFinish TM Wedge Tile Trays come standard with Wedge Base, Packer, Newline Channel Drain Kit and adhesive. With 60mm x 60mm Hob ProFinish TM Wedge Tile Trays come standard with a 60mm x 60mm hob so that the tray and channel drain can be fitted onto the floor without the need to cut out the floor for the waste flange or channel drain. CHANNEL DRAIN PROFINISH WEDGE TRAY ING HOB Recessed Application Should you want to recess the tray and channel drain into the floor, Newline can customise a tray to meet specific requirements. In order to create a recessed shower, the floor needs to be cut out so that the tray, waterproofing and tiles can be installed. Please note: With 3 Sided showers it is important to measure for the glass door or glass panels after the tray has been fully installed and the tile thickness confirmed, so that the glass door and panels are made to fit your shower. Shower Bond for acrylic walls. Installation Guide APPROVED SEALANTS: FOSROC NG (New Generation) /6 1. Before you begin, ensure floor area is clean, free of dust and surface is flat and level. Check using a spirit level and, if necessary, use a suitable levelling compound to correct any uneveness. When fitting tray to a timber floor we recommend the use of a slate and tile underlay, especially if the wooden floor has been oiled. 2. Position the ProFinish Tile Tray against the lined wall and mark the external perimeter of the tray and position of the waste flange with a pencil. 3. Remove tray and fit the waste flange to waste outlet in the floor. 4. Once the plumbing and the flange are installed, place the ProFinish Tile Tray back into position, use a sharp knife to cut around the outside of the waste flange until the tray fits neatly around the waste flange outer perimeter. 5. Lift the base and apply the adhesive supplied within the marked tray perimeter, using a 60mm grid pattern commencing 25mm in from the outer edges. 6. Ensure adhesive is applied to the sill ends - providing sill to wall joint adhesion Fit back into place and press firmly over the entire surface. To ensure adherence we recommend the tray be weighted to the floor until set. (Setting time will depend on external factors such as temperature). 8. Once the tray is glued in place, apply your choice of waterproof membrane. Refer to the list of approved waterproofing manufacturers and products above. Please ensure your waterproofer or tiler uses one of these products. 9. Apply the waterproof membrane according to the manufacturer s instruction. Ensure waterproofing is applied down into the waste flange and up the inside vertical face of the tile sill (hob), across the top edge and down to the floor line on the outside of the ProFinish Tile Tray. Where frameless doors are to be fitted it is recommended that floor areas outside the shower should also have a waterproofing membrane applied, prior to tiling. 10. Tile the shower with your choice of bathroom tiles. Door and glass installation: In most cases Newline is able to provide a list of companies who can install the glass surround.
