2 Certificate Track Outline This certificate track will provide you the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded, effective and efficient contributor to Missouri S&T while placing a great deal of focus on not only your professional development as an individual and a team member, but on your personal development as well. As University employees you were hired because you already exhibit a great level of mastery and understanding of the foundational elements of being an outstanding contributor. This certificate program is designed to improve upon your already firm professional foundation by introducing you to new ideas, promoting self-reflection and giving you the essential tools to make positive changes that have immediate impacts on your job satisfaction and productivity. The Balanced Professional Mastery certificate is presented in four core areas. Customer Service Harassment and Discrimination Ethics Training Personal Productivity Personal Growth through EAP (Employee Assistance Program) Workplace Civility Effective Communication Teamwork Stress Work-Life Balance myperformance Success Factors Accountability Collaboration Communication Customer Focus Judgment Diversity and Inclusion Time Management Electives/Wellness Incentive Employee option HREI will hold LIVE instructor-led-trainings throughout the year on the Missouri S&T campus. Be sure to look at course descriptions on mylearn to see which requirement of this certificate each instructor-led-training may meet. Available for ALL faculty and staff.

3 Steps for Completion Important: Please complete letter of intention form found here Customer Service (choose one) o Customer Service Fundamentals: Building Rapport in Customer Relationships o Customer Service Confrontation and Conflict Harassment and Discrimination (both) o Building a Foundation: Discrimination Prevention and Title IX o MakeIT Safe (mylearn, 20min) Ethics Training o Instructor-Led workshop to be delivered at S&T 6 times per calendar year. Personal Productivity (both) o Personal Productivity: Self-organization and Overcoming Procrastination o Personal Productivity Improvement: Managing Tasks and Maximizing Productivity Personal Growth through EAP (Employee Assistance Program) The following 1.5 hour presentations will be offered departmentally to be attended as a team. Supervisors will be responsible for setting up presentation appointments with the HR Training Manager. The presentations will be made available to absentees twice per calendar year. It is expected that supervisors and employees attend these presentations together. (In)Civility in the Workplace Tomato Potato (Effective Communication in the Workplace) Teamwork Means Never Having to Take the Blame Tension Headaches for Beginners (Stress in the Workplace) Go Home and Be Home: The Importance of a Work-Life Balance

4 myperformance Success Factors Complete two (2) mylearn courses from each of the following UM Success Factors. As an alternative HREI will also hold several LIVE workshops and presentations at S&T that qualify for each of these success factors. (Select 'Browse the Library' in mylearn to access the Success Factor courses) Accountability Collaboration Communication Customer Focus Diversity and Inclusion (At least 1 of 2 must be a live Instructor-Led Training on campus) Judgment Time Management Electives/Wellness Complete 12 hours of coursework, presentation or workshop attendance through mylearn or on-campus instructor-led-training. Alternatively, the employee may complete Tier II of their Wellness Incentive in the most recent calendar year to satisfy this elective requirement. Suggested topics for elective coursework: Leadership Development Managing Your Career Problem Solving and Decision Making Strategies Total Requirements: : 6 Courses Personal Growth through EAP: 5 Courses UM Success Factors: 14 Courses Electives: 12 Courses or Tier II Wellness Incentive All requirements must be met within 1 complete calendar year (start to finish) to qualify for the Mastery Certificate. Exceptions and substitutions will be made on an individual basis at the discretion of the HR Training Manager. To complete this certificate, simply track your progress through your mylearn Learning Transcript (Select 'Quick Links' in mylearn to access Learning Transcript) and submit the attached worksheet to HREI upon completion.
