2 ROLAMAT AIR-LOADA This system is available in standard 3 mm and heavy duty 5 mm top plate versions. The 3 mm version is mainly used as a dedicated module for conveying loads in and out of vehicles, or in various warehouse applications. The 5mm version uses all the internal components of our 3mm system, but with the benefit of 5mm heavy duty top plates. This enables it to take traffic & load weights which more than stands up to the general wear and tear that multi purpose, airfreight vehicles and trailers now have to withstand due to the varied work they are asked to undertake. This system, now proven for many years, has dramatically reduced the need for spares due to it's robust features. This is borne out by the systems currently working 24/7 every day with negligable need for downtime. Due to its unique design, the top plates are secured by two fixing screws enabling quick release and therefore easy maintenance. 3 ROLAMAT POWER-LOADA In answer to the industries request for powered systems to move heavier air cargo pallets, we introduced a power cargo roller system. The compact powered roller consists of a number of urethane-covered drums and this is driven by their own 24 volt integral motor to provide a very useable 1600N tangential force. The roller drum is raised against the underside of the load by an airbag in order to transmit the frictional driving force to the load. The roller, motor, wiring and pneumatics are all contained within one easily installed rectangular box unit. Power-Loada is mounted within the vehicle chassis at a height suitable to allow the weight of the load to be supported by the Air-Loada modules. The urethane covered roller is raised against the underside of the load by air pressure. This will in turn provide sufficient friction for the roller when driven to move the load. When used in conjunction with the Air-Loada system, the Power-Loada cargo rollers will completely unload a 13.6m trailer automatically within a couple of minutes. The system draws both electrical and pneumatic power from the vehicle, making Power-Loada a neat and self-contained system capable of being used at any remote location. A small, hand held pendant controller with a wander lead cable or a fixed controller station can be supplied as part of the installed kit. This enables loading to be controlled remotely at a safe distance from the moving loads. The system can also be supplied with a remote control battery operated hand controller unit or to suit your particular specification. Please ask for further details. The operator s safety and convenience is paramount. Power-Loada is a safe and simple means of loading or unloading freight. Power-Loada is a convenient and cost effective means of loading air cargo pallets or other unitised loads into a or off of a vehicle, especially when there are no available conventional power supplies. The system, including Air-Loada modules can be installed as original equipment during initial build or retro-fitted. It can be fitted to flatbed, step-frame, curtain side or box vehicles. It is an ideal, cost effective and reliable solution for the loading and unloading of complete payloads within 30 seconds! Rolamat Rolaload Dock systems are now well established and are currently handling news print, white goods and food products. If you want TOTAL CONTROL of your product and its distribution then the Rolaload system will provide it. The dock control system can be programmed to read barcodes, check destinations, compute total vehicle weights, adjust stock holdings and refuse unauthorised instructions. In short it gives you total Control, even when you are not there. Reliable Automated Vehicle Loading Is now an essential function whenever goods need to be transported by road. Maximum advantage is gained by designing your facility and operation around total automation. Automated loading connects the manufacturing line to the warehouse regardless of distance. A greater degree of control of the product, its security and location can be easily achieved and maintained. This control will substantially reduce product loss as well as secondary damage and distribution costs. With a payback time measured in months and not years automated loading really has come of age. It is no longer necessary to have your vehicle waiting around while being loaded by fork lift trucks. Palletised loads of products can be pre-assembled and placed into the vehicle as one unit as soon as it arrives at the loading bay. Automated vehicle loading allows you to make better use of your vehicles by having them out on the road working not standing idle being laboriously loaded. Product damage due to secondary handling is almost eliminated. There is no need to have your forklift trucks perform that well rehearsed ballet as they load the vehicle. The loading bay is a safer working environment for your personnel and products. See an animation of the system : Lorry is backed into position with fifth wheel coupling. Once in position air is connected to the vehicle and the skates are inserted under the load. After the skates are inserted under the load the air cushions are inflated in order to raise the load off of the deck of the lorry. The complete load is then drawn back off the lorry in one operation. No forklifts, no cranes and all completed within approximately 3 minutes. 5 ROLAMAT ROLALOAD AUTOMATIC LOADING AND UNLOADING SYSTEM Despite their size and appearance newsprint reels are very easily damaged and must be handled with the utmost care. Any damage or deformation in the reel will cause considerable problems to a printing machine and immense cost to the printers. Automated reel handling starting at the vehicle unloading stage will help to prevent such problems and is now an everyday event in producing many of our daily newspapers. Unloading 30 vehicles with 15 reels, each weighing up to 2 tonnes and all within a narrow time frame demands a robust and reliable handling system. The Rolaload system meets and exceeds that demand every day of the week, it must if you are to receive your daily newspaper on time, that is reliability! The drums are delivered from production on a conveyor system to a robotic stacker where they are placed 4 per pallet 3 pallets high. The load (In this case 72 pallets, 312 drums in total ) is conveyed by chain conveyor onto the Rolaload loading dock. When the vehicle is located onto the dock, (for this operation a truck and trailer system is used) the Rolaload system will lift the pallets clear of the dock. The skates will then transfer the load as one unit into the vehicle, before lowering and withdrawing the skates back to the dock.
