Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence. - Vince Lombardi
Partnerships Zycom partners with Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), who constitute the highest body of privately held cattle ranchers and owners in the country. Given the significance of this national association, our collaboration would accelerate deployment and application of solution across the nation.
Technology Partner Zycom partners with Datamars, global l leading manufacturer of electronic animal identification system since Datamars Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system was developed d by Texas Instrument t The system issues each cattle with uniquely encrypted identification number used to track & monitor the cattle anywhere.
Technology Certifications Datamars is a founding member of the ISO committee for animal ID and active member in ISO project team for alternative technologies and test procedures A key contributor to animal ID standards ISO 11784/85 & Datamars is a member of ICAR and active contributor to the definition iti of ICAR test t procedures Datamars is ISO 9001 CERTIFIED Datamars quality control system ensures compliance with the standards d and continuous improvement on products and suppliers qualification, as well as non-conformity management.
Rumen Bolus Datamars bolus is a ceramic capsule available in 20g, 52g, 72g sizes, and resistant to stomach acids, that contains a passive RFID microchip, with unique, unalterable, fraud-proof identification code specific to each individual animal (UID code). The code is read independent of the position of the microchip in the animal, either stationary or in motion. Why Passive RFID: No battery, for lifetime ID, to automate capture of animal ID and movement, to minimize i i paperwork, to eliminate errors and to reduce costs.
Bolus Application The bolus is implanted orally with a bolus applicator and settles in the Rumen (second stomach) of the animal, with retention rates greater than 99%. Made of stainless steel, the bolus applicators match the curvature of the animal s throat to avoid injury during implantation.
Electronic Ear-Tag System Electronic ear tags are designed to guarantee highest possible retention rates, and are easy to apply with matching ear tag applicator: Fast, easy and safe to apply; Ideal for official identification and private herd management; Equipped with tamper proof closing mechanism; Outstanding retention and fast healing; Helps farmers monitor & manage their herds globally.
Electronic Ear-Tags Electronic ear tags are approved by ICAR, and meet ISO standards 11784/5 for animal identification. W 57 x L 77 mm tags El i f l Electronic female tag FDX-B/HDX Ø 25 mm Each tag has an embedded, d passive, electronic microchip that holds a unique identifier matched to the individual animal that can t be manipulated; Each tag has a unique surgical cutting tip that reduces the risk of infection and promotes fast healing.
RFID Reader The new GES3S Reader is designed as portable livestock identification device with best- in-class reading performance. Fully water-proof (IP 67 class), perfect for outdoor conditions & reads all ISO HDX & FDX-B transponder consistent with ISO 11784/5 & AMD1. Save defined data for each animal; Bluetooth connection & rechargeable battery; Detachable stick antenna; Stores over 2 million records.
Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. - Angelique Arnauld
Immediate Solutions Zycom technology provides immediate solution to existing cattle rustling problems as follows: Cattle Cattle Location Grazing Route Identification Tracking Tracking & Compliance
Cattle Identification The solution provides each cattle with a unique encrypted radio frequency identification, registered on the bolus in the cattle rectum, where it can not be reached or removed by cattle rustlers The number is used to track & identify cattle anywhere, and return cattle to rightful owner, for theft protection.
System Configuration Upon identification process, the database establishes individual id cattle record in the system to track and monitor the cattle for life-time. Data is encrypted using highly secured encrypting system similar to bank s security, and can only be accessed or deployed d through h our established network.
Cattle Location Tracking The cattle location tracking system is designed to deploy, as it integrates and utilizes the Geo-fence software with Global Positioning System (GPS), to define geographical locations. The system is tracked from Zycom control center or cattle owner, as it notifies real-time, immediately cattle is taken outside defined d boundary.
Geo-Fence Configuration Multiple active Geo-fences are usually defined, with each Geo-fence setup for entry and exit, or duration of time before triggering alarm. Defined Geo-Fence is integrated in our equipment to establish communication with local Internet Service Provider (ISP).
System Communication The system is designed to use local Internet Service Provider (ISP) GSM tower as backhaul for communication. The base station can cover an area of about 2000 km in rural r and 875 km in urban areas; For areas with no GSM base station, communication is established via Satellite.
Grazing Routes Tracking Geo-fences mapping defines cattle grazing routes to ensure compliance by herdsmen. eds e Approved grazing routes are integrated into Geo-fence so that when a herdsman travels outside defined route, the system alerts immediately for corrective action.
Grazing Routes Compliance Zycom proposes partnership with federal, state, t or local l authorities to form grazing routes task force, or utilize existing task force for cattle grazing routes compliance and enforcement. The system alerts real-time of grazing g route violation, for corrective action and enforcement.
Solution Upgrade Zycom is presently upgrading solution to include the following features: Cattle Cattle Heat Stress Traceability Monitoring Indicators
Cattle Traceability Cattle regular movement is a good indicator of the cattle health, especially when the cattle moves with a herd. Traceability system reduces recall time, leads to faster product into market, protects customers, improves reputation, and reduces market loses. It helps to mitigate disease spread and management, and response with cattle identification, and tracking of movement. It plays a significant role and helps competition in the market; delivering international trade and market benefit by facilitating compliance with important t regulations.
Cattle Monitoring i Cattle temperature varies based on physical activities, stage of pregnancy, time of day, and environmental surroundings. When the temperature is above normal, the cattle is considered to have a fever and when below, it is called Hypothermia. Temperature fluctuation is noticeable 48 hours before physical signs like lack of appetite, running eyes, lose species, rapid breathing and soft coughing: Beef cttle:36.7 C to 39.1 C; Dairy cattle: 38.0 C to 39.3 C; Sheep: 38.3 C to 39.9 C, and Goat: 38.5 C to 39.7 C.
Taking Temperature The normal method of taking cattle temperature is by inserting thermostat in the rectum. The system provides a much easier method without lifting cattle tail. The monitoring system would also alert cattle owner when cattle temperature e reaches es upper limits.
Heat Stress Indicator Heat stress occurs when a cattle heat load is greater than her capacity to lose heat, and critical temperature vary: Young cattle about 20 C; Mature cattle is comfort about 24 C. Cattle will start t experiencing i heat stress when temperatures are above these levels. l
Heat Stress Impact Some of the impacts of heat stress on cattle include: Heat of cattle, 50% decrease in milk production; and In severe cases death. Key factors: cattle temperature, t outside temperature, t humidity and wind, helps calculate l the amount of heat stress on cattle. This is known n as Temperature Humidity Index (THI) reports provided to cattle owner.
Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well. - Angelique Arnauld
