14 Dairy weather summary for farming community DAIRY WEATHER SUMMARY FOR FARMING COMMUNITY 19/05/2014 WESTERN PROVINCE Light rainfall occurred in many parts of that province on during last 48 hours and likely to persist in next 48 hours. Beans are form flowering to pod formation in good state and maize are at flowering stage at good state. Farmers in that area are advised to continue their field normal agriculture activities. NORTHERN PROVINCE Light to moderate rainfall observed in last 48 hours is expected to decrease from light rain to cloudy conditions during next 48 hours. Farmers are advised to continue normal agriculture activities. Cold conditions and high cloud cover would continue in some places of the province during next 48 hours. Farmers are advised to monitor field crops including vegetables against pests attack. SOUTHERN PROVINCE Moderate rain occurred in many places of southern Province during last 3 days and is expected to decrease to cloudy conditions in following two days. Farmers are advised to continue their normal agriculture activities for past flowering maize and past flowering beans in the fields. Cassava in North Eastern part of the province is in good state and farmers are advised to continue normal agriculture activities in cassava fields. EASTERN PROVINCE Light to moderate rain occurred in that Province for last 3 days but it is expected to decrease to mostly cloudy during next 48 hours. Farmers in that part are advised to apply mulching to vegetables and bananas for soil moisture conservation. Farmers are also advised to monitor kitchen gardens against dry conditions. KIGALI REGION: Many parts of Kigali recorded light to moderate rain during last 48 hours and fields crops (maize and beans) are at early maturity stage. Cloudy conditions are expected in Kigali during next 3 days and farmers are advised to continue their normal agriculture activities with monitoring of vegetable and kitchen gardens against dry conditions.
