26 Key Similarities Key Differences National Meteorological Services are the lead organizations All involve national level institutions, organizations. Seem to be satisfied with current level of involvement. All have informal structures which may be of varying influence Jamaica and India seem to rely on structured interactions with public universities, including establishing MoUs Jamaica and India seem to have a dedicated multidisciplinary working group In Jamaica, there seems to have a interorganizational data sharing agreement between Met service and National Irrigation Committee India seems to be unique in their structuring of feedback, using the KVKs to link from the district to the state level

27 Key Questions How do we proceed as a community? Can we agree on 2 or 3 questions of how to proceed with analysis of climate services governance structures?

28 Key Questions How do we proceed as a community? Can we agree on 2 or 3 questions of how to proceed with analysis of climate services governance structures? Do we need good governance? (Or do we just need good enough?) Formal vs. informal governance? Whose missing? Would developing a set of key principals for designing governances structures for climate services be useful? Is it acceptable if the need of a governance is deprioritized? Perhaps if informal structures are sufficient? How do we set the baseline? How to evaluate the value and/or need? Is it worth exploring an initial capital approach, where initial funding sets up a governance structure? (Example: UK and Germany for ARC)
