1 Job Information Pack Position Summary Property Name: Property Summary: Stockerau Station Pastoral Limited Partnership Stockerau Station Pastoral Limited Partnership will own and operate the land, buildings, stock and plant. MyFarm Sheep and Beef have a management contract on the property. Stockerau Station Pastoral Limited Partnership is a mixed contour property that was in trees approximately 12 years ago and is in the process of conversion back into a highly productive sheep and beef unit. There is a structured development programme in place with the goal to lift production to over 300kg/ha by improving soil fertility, the use of new forages and additional subdivision. The initial focus will be on development to lift the farms carrying capability with the plantain cropping programme and increasing the fertility of the property. Job Title: Position Overview: (Stock Work, Animal Health, Human Resources, Budgeting, Business Management, Purchasing, General) Farm Manager The Farm Manager will have an immediate focus on the development of the property and have a natural instinct for planning and logistical management of multiple tasks. The development phase will be a 4 year process prioritised into blocks and the outcomes will be that the property grows its stocking rate and intensity in line with the fertility, pasture/crops and infrastructure. Stockerau Station Pastoral Limited Partnership will put in place intensive management policies including the use of crops and new forage species such as the grazing herb known as Tonic plantain as well as swedes and fodder beet for wintering ewes and cattle. The farm management system will be based on the following: Adopting a simple system with a few stock classes. A focus on developing cropping and pasture improved with the redevelopment that will increase both the quantity and quality of pasture and forage on an improving level of soil fertility. Subdivision will be upgraded to allow more intensive pasture utilisation which underpins great stock performance. Improvement to animal handling facilities will be made to facilitate the lift in sheep numbers and production and efficient handling of grazing heifers. Regular monitoring of animal weight gains to ensure that operations are delivering target levels of meat and wool production as well as grazing objectives. 1

Accommodation is a three bedroom house with a large open plan kitchen/lounge area. It has an attached double garage and concrete covered patio. The outcome will be that the property is set up to be a highly productive unit with good infrastructure and improving pastures. A primary school at Matata and primary, intermediate and secondary in Te Puke. Primary and two high schools in Whakatane. Farm Information Farm Area (total): Farm Area (effective): Contour: ha 902ha effective 290ha of non-productive area which includes 219ha of pine trees Flat to steep contour, overall property assessed as being of a medium contour. 2

Not regarded as having a high natural fertility but these soils respond well to traditional fertilisers ml The farm is primarily divided into larger sheep paddocks that will require some sub-division as part of the development, cropping programme. Fencing is mainly conventional post and wire and is a very good standard. There is a fencing budget assigned for the additional sub-division on the property, which will enable an efficient grazing rotation and improve pasture utilisation. Main woolshed is a three stand shed with covered yards. The attached sheep and cattle yards feature a basic weigh and drafting infrastructure. There is a development plan in place to upgrade the yards with automated weighing and drafting systems. There is a deferred maintenance budget allocated for the woolshed as well as building a more robust option to cross the Herepuru stream. There is a five bay implement shed including two enclosed bays which function as a workshop and garage. Brush weeds, blackberry and native grasses There is a spring fed reticulated system with troughs in all paddocks There is a development allowance to increase the water storage capacity. Access across the farm via the ex-forestry roads is very good. The farm also has a gravel pit for ongoing maintenance of farm tracks. The property has its own private airstrip for fertiliser application. Farm ute will be provided with the role. There is a budget to purchase new machinery as required to complete capital development. 3

Stock Policy: Breeding Finishing Stud Ewes maintaining a condition score greater than 3 and target weight of 65kgs from pre-mating in February through to weaning in November Maintaining lambing at 140% from 2016/2017 onwards. Lamb growth rates during summer months of 80gms/day on pasture and 180gms/day on crop with a target prime weight of 19.6kgs. Lift on-farm production of product (meat and wool) to the target 400kgs/ha by 2018/19. Maintain cost of production at $1,190/ha through to 2018/19. Sheep Policy: The operation is forecast to utilise a terminal Sheep policy for the first 3 years. Production System Intensive Semi Intensive Animal Health Practices: Cropping Policy: Best Practice at all times The implementation of a 600ha pasture development plan including plantain and new grass species. In addition there is a plan for 150ha of winter crops per annum. This development plan will increase the pasture production to 11tDM/ha 4
