Objective of the REGPOT call Stimulating the realisation of the full research potential of the enlarged Union by unlocking and developing existing or emerging excellence in the EU's Convergence regions and Outermost regions, and helping to strengthen the potential of their researchers to successfully participate in research activities at European Union level.
Special requests competitiveness, jobs, sustainable growth and social progress it is necessary they advance scientific discovery and innovation and improve management of intellectual property (IP)
Result 14.5 points 5 for scientific excellence 5 for implementation and management 4.5 for impact The IPR strategy potential to exploit research results needs more justification.

Regenerative medicine
Contribution to the substantial change in medicine
The main objective of GlowBrain is To introduce a synergic combination of stem cells, biomaterials and in vivo imaging aiming to transform the existing mouse brain research in the cutting edge innovative facility for regenerative medicine
University of Zagreb School of Medicine (UNIZAG) and its part Croatian Institute for Brain Research (CIBR) as research entity hosting GlowBrain University of Zagreb School of Medicine Croatian Institute for Brain Research - high quality research and teaching entity of significant scientific and organizational size
Mouse brain research at CIBR as a foundation for GlowBrain (1) mouse facility, (2) neuroanatomy platform, (3) neurodevelopmental platform, (4) microscopy platform, (5) molecular biology platform, (6) behavioral platform, plus two platforms under construction (7) stem cell platform (8) biomaterials platform GlowBrain project aims to complete two platforms under construction (i.e. 7 and 8) and to add (9) in vivo molecular imaging.
Experienced scientists of CIBR which would realize GlowBrain gender balance of experienced researchers is approx. 50% - 50% the majority of experienced researchers are in mid 40 s, i.e. at the top potential of their careers.
Action plan to increase the attractiveness of the research performed in order to gain national, international and private funding to coordinate scientific activities of the Institution as whole in order to accumulate knowledge and expertise necessary to attack major scientific problems to support innovations and generation of new intellectual property to orientate toward societal needs and envisage the research program which is timely and needed
The main objective of GlowBrain is To introduce a synergic combination of stem cells, biomaterials and in vivo imaging aiming to transform the existing mouse brain research in the cutting edge innovative facility for regenerative medicine
GlowBrain three main pillars A) stem cells, B) biomaterials and C) in vivo animal imaging system.
GlowBrain Main S&T objective is to introduce a novel approach for stem cell based therapy of nervous system by using the biomaterials to enhance and control stem cells, and by in vivo monitoring of stem cell behavior after transplantation through complementary combination of two imaging modalities - bioluminescent imaging (BLI) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
