3 Bovine Bovine (BSA) has numerous laboratory applications including ELISA s, immunobiots, and immunohistochemistry. In restriction digests, BSA is used to stabilize some enzymes during digestion of DNA and to prevent adhesion of the enzyme to tubes and pipette tips. BSA is frequently used as a media supplement in the production of bio-pharaceutical products, as a nutrient in cell and microbial culture.
