1 ORACLE APPLICATIONS Summer 2017 Release Spotlight on LIGHTNING ADAPTER Chris Haussler, Sr. Principal Product Manager Oracle Script 1 Hi, I m Chris Haussler, Product Manager for Oracle CPQ Cloud. Today, the majority of CPQ Cloud customers integrate Oracle s market-leading CPQ application with Salesforce.com CRM. 2 If you re one of these CPQ Cloud customers, this video is for you. In the next couple of minutes, I ll introduce you to an exciting new release we call the Oracle CPQ Adapter for Salesforce Lightning. 3 In this video, we ll look at eligibility, watch a demo of how a user will experience Oracle CPQ Cloud inside Salesforce Lightning, and review some of the benefits of the adapter for Salesforce Lightning.

2 Let s begin with the question of Eligibility. In other words, are you a good candidate to uptake this adapter? 4 To use this adapter, you must be an Oracle CPQ Cloud customer, your CPQ Cloud environment must be integrated to Salesforce.com CRM, and either you use the Salesforce Lightning experience or you intend your users to adopt in the future. 5 This new adapter changes the game because it leverages the power of Oracle CPQ Cloud, but allows users to remain in the native Salesforce.com Lightning experience they enjoy. 6 Let s see the Oracle CPQ Cloud Adapter for Salesforce Lighting in action.

3 As usual, our integrated CRM CPQ demo begins on the Opportunity in CRM. This is all standard Salesforce. The only thing that we ve introduced is the Oracle Quotes object, where the user can access the list of quotes on this opportunity. Before we access the quote, I ll point out some key Lightning UI features. 7 For instance, in the header, there s an object-specific icon, the name of the object, and the name of the record that the user is currently viewing. At the right, an abbreviated action list shows the most used buttons; a drop-down menu gives access to secondary buttons. This feature helps establish the clean, spare, Lightning UI. 8 Let s edit an existing quote. This opens the quote in a page that is 100% native Salesforce. All of the quote information is being pulled from Oracle CPQ Cloud using RESTful APIs, and rendered using the Lighting UI framework and Lighting Design System. You see the quote icon and name, and the name of this specific record at the upper left. At the right, CPQ Cloud s actions are rendered to match Lightning Design elements, because they ARE lightning Design elements.

4 All of the information to draw this layout buttons, tabs, line item grid, attributes is coming from Oracle CPQ Cloud. Access permissions for every element whether information is readonly, read-write, or hidden are fed to Lightning from CPQ. Element behaviors what happens when the user clicks a tab or button is from CPQ. 9 Looks good, right? Let s review the benefits of this solution. 10 Oracle s CPQ Adapter for Salesforce Lightning offers the best of both worlds. Users get a native Lightning experience AND they get the horsepower the performance, scalability, and flexibility that only Oracle CPQ Cloud offers. Administrators benefit from Oracle CPQ s market-leading enterprise-grade product configuration, pricing, and document generation. Finally, as this adapter is made of 100% native Lightning components, it is Salesforce upgradecompliant. 11
