4 1 Executive Summary GeometricEDGE is committed to implement the requirements and criteria formulated in the Code of PLM Openness. CPO is an initiative of the ProSTEP ivip association for establishing a common understanding on openness of IT systems in the context of PLM. GeometricEDGE believes that open standards make life easier for users and developers alike, by promoting interoperability and efficiency. GeometricEDGE has, since April 2015, offered proven and certified software products in the area of CAD/CAM, PDM and PLM interoperability. The principals of the Code of PLM Openness play an important part in our software architecture and in the development of our software products. 2 Details of Self-Assessment The following chapters summarize the results of the CPO-related self-assessment of HCL s Geometric Tech with regard to GeometricEDGE. The APIs to export the data are available for the customers in the form of web services APIs. Detailed description of the web services APIs is made available for the use of customers and third parties. 5 2.2 CPO Chapter 2.2: Infrastructure Supported platforms are as below: Supported OS: Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2012 Supported Hardware: Windows PC GeometricEDGE requires no non-standard hardware and/or software from IT customers. 2.3 CPO Chapter 2.5: Standards Supported data exchange formats and standards. ISO :2014 (AP 242) specifies the application protocol for Managed model based 3d engineering ISO 14306:2012 (JT) - Industrial automation systems and integration -- JT file format specification for 3D visualization WS-BPEL 2.0, is an XML based standard mark-up language that is emerging as the answer to process orchestration requirements XML is a markup language that defines a set of rules for encoding documents in a format that is both human-readable and machine-readable JAXB is a software framework that allows Java developers to map Java classes to XML representations. JAXB 2.0 was released under JSR 222 and Maintenance Release 2 released in December CPO Chapter 2.6 Architecture The IT systems Architecture is conforming CPO 2.6 Yes / No GeometricEDGE architecture has multi layered architecture. This helps in separating the responsibilities of each architectural layer. Interfaces are documented in PDF format. API documentation contains full API documentation, along with usage examples (wherever applicable) for easy implementation of custom code. HCL Technologies provides or makes use the open source tools, all the component details, libraries and necessary documentation for configuration and customization of GeometricEDGE data model, business logic and rules. 7 Customers can commission third parties to realize extensions, based on customer license agreements. HCL Technologies supports a customer feedback system wherein end users can request for certain features and extensions for consideration in future release plans. Current customer feedback system is based on the communication. Customers can send their feedback/requests to HCL through the published aliases for seeking any feedback/request related to the product integration/extension With sustainability as its focus in this engineering centric market, GeometricEDGE understands the need for transparency.
